Switch to legacy defending or whatever it's called, is one option. Lower CPU speed and accel sliders 5 points is another suggestion -- won't get rid of the CPU psychic ninja dribbling but it helps. The CPU god-mode/comeback programming nonsense has been in FIFA since the dawn of time. Get the PC version, there are gameplay mods that get rid of most of that -- that's suggestion #3. And of course, play on a lower difficulty level until you get better at the game would be tip #4.

1. Yea, I thought about that but the new defending is one of the main reasons I got the game.

2. I might try messing with the sliders a little, but for right now I lowered the difficulty from Pro to Semi Pro until I learn what I'm doing defensively... But I think it's too easy offensively on Semi Pro because I'm putting up like 3-5 goals against Madrid with Barca (Messi had 4 goals in one of those games which isn't EXTREMELY unrealistic against most teams, but against Real Madrid it probably shouldn't happen).

3. I can't do PC version. Only thing I have is a laptop and it's not upgraded enough for gaming. Plus I might be getting a Macbook Pro soon anyways, and I don't even think EA makes games for Apple anymore.

4, As I said above, lowered the difficulty to Semi Pro for right now, offense is too easy and defense is still a little bit challenging, but not overwhelming like it was when I started playing on Pro. Did a Barca career mode and was doing well so I went to start a Houston Dynamo on Pro and got destroyed by a friendly match... It sucks that you can't really afford to bring in a star player into MLS like the Galaxy did with Beckham and NY did with Henry. I also don't understand why almost every MLS player is slower than the BBVA Liga guys. I mean, I realize BBVA Liga has better players, but I bet there are guys in MLS who are probably just as fast. That's what's kind of killed my Dynamo manager mode hopes... Not fun to play with a bunch of slow players.

Stay on Pro level. Lower CPU speed and accel sliders to 45. Raise CPU pass error and shot error to 65. Try that, thank me later.

If you're not tweaking the sliders, there's really no point in posting about the problems you're having. The sliders were a godsend this year; you now have the ability to customize gameplay difficulty to match your skill level. I play on Legendary this year for example, and I never played FIFA above Pro level before. And I'm able to do that mostly because of the sliders.

This is an issue with every sports game, not just FIFA. These game devs make the star players 90 in every ratings catagory, and the scrubs 50. It's stupid and unrealistic, sure. Which is why I spend a good couple of weeks editing player ratings before I start my season, both with this game and with all others.
