In career mode do the players ever retire? I don't think I have had any on my team do it but that might just be weird luck for me.

Yes they do. I began a career mode with Botafogo because Sebastian Abreu is in it but then he retired after the first season.

before my saves got corrupted. i had a creation team that i bought cr7 several years into the career mode. i cant remember how old he was, but he did end up retiring after 3 seasons with my club. during that career i did have ibrahimovic say he was going to retire, but i sold him in the second transfer window.
