Havent played Fifa in years and the amount of options and questions this game presents is overwhelming and confusing. What do I have to do to be able to select a team to play multiple seasons with, playing the games and also editing lineups, trading players, etc? Could care less about all the bells whistles and leaderboards.

That would be Career Mode which is the 'Franchise' mode of Fifa.
