FIFA 13 - Youth Academy and Player Growth

I went back into FIFA 13 for 1 last run last week, then I decided to go for 1 more team before FIFA 14 came out just to see what I could do scouting wise... I ended up with what I think is the best youth academy year I've seen.

Sup guys! Yes I'm still playing FIFA 13 (I know how lame right) I always buy the FIFA games 2 years apart so I can really notice the differences.

I couldn't find an answer through Google for this: I had a player in my starting 11 that said "showing great potential" I rested him for a game or 2 (not in a row) and now the showing great potential status is gone. Anyone know what's up with that? Does that mean his potential is ruined now?
