Questions About Player Growth

My friend and I are both starting a career mode (as managers) and have a few questions about player growth that we couldn't find answers to:

1) When players grow can their work rates change?

2) Can player traits be acquired or lost? Example: could Jack Wilshere ever learn swerve pass?

3) Has anyone used/grown Freddy Adu? We read online that his max potential is 72 OVR but also read that sometimes players develop over their potential. We're wondering how good he can become because we'd like to try to resurrect his career.

1. Work rates, unfortunately, do not change

2. As far as I'm aware, traits like flare/injury prone/outside foot shot etc. cannot be learned but the main ones such as clinical finisher can.

3. I'm sure he can go above his rating but Charlie Davies is better . Both in game and irl

Whatever happened to Freddy Adu? Lol all I remember is he showed GREAT potential with DC United and then all of a sudden I stopped hearing about him years ago...

stunted development... overhyped.... lack of proper competitive exposure. He got taken in by a Euro club way too late in his career. He's not terrible by any means, I think he's an adequate player.
