Promoted Youth Player Wearing The Wrong Kit?

I promoted a youth player to my senior squad following the May youth academy update ... I put the promoted youth player into my starting lineup for the first match that I play in May ... he is wearing a different outfit from the rest of my team ... what is up with this?

My home kit is white shirt / red stripes and red shorts ... the promoted youth player is wearing an all-white top and, what look to be, black leggings. This is peculiar.

I have promoted other youth players in the past and have had no such problems. I *did* change the kit number for this player from the CPU-assigned value. I would hate for this to be a permanent mistake - this is the best youth player I have ever developed (a 71 OVR 16 year old CM!).

Can anyone help me with this? Thanks!

Re: Promoted Youth Player Wearing The Wrong Kit?

I did a restart to see what happens ...

I think the shirt is OK.

But my player is definitely wearing long black pants. WTF.

This is very annoying - I often mistake him for the referee.

This cannot be good ... can this be fixed?

I will have to loan/sell him. Too bad - he looked to be a stud youth player.

Bummer-a-roo!

There is a pants option for GKs, I've seen a couple of players wearing them. That must be what you're seeing. Anyway, this is why I play PC version, a lot of things like that can be edited and fixed.

Yes - goalie pants - that is what they look like.

Is there any way to fix this?

Why would my CM wear goalie pants?

Don't know anything about the console version, but I came across a thread on SG about some editing tool in the EASFC catalogue (whatever that is):

If you're on the console version you can go to Edit players (You should already have it to be honest, as it's essential if you don't want all your youth to look the same, but if you don't, it isn't expensive) and press random a few times and the pants should fix themselves.

You might have to manually change his boots, though. For some reason the random button gives your player blackout boots.

Yes - I am on X360 ...

I can edit the appearance of a youth player inside of a career mode save?

This will not mess up my career mode?

If this works - thanks for the suggestion!

Re: Promoted Youth Player Wearing The Wrong Kit?

This is by far the funniest bug in FIFA for years. I think one of the devs has a great sense of humor.

"Pretty excited about that youth academy hotshot, eh? We'll see how excited you are about his refusal to wear the proper kit!"

I encountered this once in my Career Mode but it was actually a Manchester City defender with the issue. He played the full 90 with long beautiful black pants, like male yoga pants. It was truly something to behold.

I actually attempted to sign him but City were asking too much! Apparently, they loved his pants as much as I did.
