Fifa 13 playoff and cup tourney difficulty

Do they have the comp get more difficult as you transition into the playoffs or cup matches in Career Manager Mode, as that would be more realistic. If not i plan on increasing the comp from professional to World Class. Is this a good idea or will the comp automatically increase its difficulty and competition level in playoff and cup matches?

When you play online in Ultimate Team it does this for some tournaments (bumps up difficulty). I do it manually on occasion (WC to Leg.) to mix it up. I recommend it.
