Krebstar's FIFA 20 World Class Sliders

After purchasing FIFA 20 late, I decided to try the community slider set, and as in past years it was just not for me. There are some things in that set I think are working well, so you'll see those reflected here, otherwise, they're very similar to my settings from last year.

So, thank you to those who contributed to the community set.

However, these are meant to be different. They're not meant to give you a more realistic game that feels like FIFA—they're meant to make the game feel less like FIFA.

If you want to play short halves, these are not for you. These are personally what I'm really enjoying, and if others find them to be enjoyable, awesome, but I'm not soliciting feedback. Change what you feel you need to change, and go from there. I don't post videos, and I honestly don't want to see your videos. Nothing personal, I just want to play the game when I can and not sink too much time into settings.

I used an image as this should be really easy to view on your phone—that's the hope, at least.

So, first post in, settings are all in there. I've settled back on 15 minute halves as it just feels right. I'm really enjoying these right now and am having no issues with difficulty. In my Athletic Club (Bilbao) CM I lost my first three matches, and narrowly won my fourth 0-1.

These are playing fairly realistic right now and I like them even more than last year's set. Expect realistic pass percentages and shot totals—that's the hope, at least.

Made a few small adjustments and will post tomorrow. FB positioning back to 10 as it was last year to help fullbacks set to join the attack to do so more often being the biggest.

Playing with wingbacks really made me notice that it needed adjusting.

The game is playing super smooth and very tactical. Shots per game is down from about high teens/ low twenties to low teens. Actually had a match that I had 11 shots and Cardiff City only had 6 shots. Most of the match is played in the midfield.

          Glad to have you back[emoji106]

I know you don't want feedback, but I have to say thanks for these. I like the open and loose feel these give. Much appreciated!

I loved your sliders in previous years so thanks for putting these together. I do have one question. Are you getting fouls on slow? I've played slow the majority of time over the past year this game has been out and I just dont draw enough fouls from the AI.

I recently moved the community sliders back to normal speed and I've drawn more fouls in 5 matches than i had in two seasons. I like getting the fouls but the pace of the game is really fast.

So i was hoping to try your sliders out and just had the one question about fouls and/or free kicks.

              Thanks

About the same as past years, maybe a few more here and there. The most success I've had at drawing fouls has been dribbling around or close to defenders without sprinting, and sometimes shielding the ball.

I've had a few games where the AI has fouled me six times, and then others only once or twice.

An entire generation of FIFA could've been so much better if they just incorporated a foul/aggression slider. The animations are there—they really are, and when you see one (and a foul is called) it's so great.

Thanks for sharing these. I've been trying to find a good balance between World Class and Legendary. Hoping these will give me that sweet spot.

Very late here too, but it's refreshing to finally find someone else who makes such 'drastic' changes to the line settings too. Anything even close to 50/50/50 for height, length and width is just absurd and nothing even remotely like a real game. I've been really trying to keep an eye on player positioning in the recent Bundesliga games and you can see there that each team will generally try and stay as compact as possible - almost like a swarm of bees as opposed to distant stars like FIFA is out of the box.

Only just got round to buying FIFA 20 cheap myself, but yeah just wanted to say I'll certainly be giving these sliders a go as they seem to have been formulated from a similar place to how I approach them.

                      Bingo.

It sounds overly simplistic, but my method for creating these and my FIFA 19 sliders was to sit and watch games and look at positioning. FIFA has trained us to think that when we play FIFA, we should see lines stretched across the field, and massive gaps between the midfield and the back line—it's crazy.

In real life, if the ball is on the far side of the pitch, the defending team's fullback who is on the near side is far closer to the center of the pitch than the edge. As for the back line, in the modern game, almost every team is playing a high line of sorts, it just depends on how high they're playing. Even teams who are sitting deeper have their back line fairly high and close to the midfield when they're in possession.

Anyway, went off on a ramble there, but the goal was always to get the game feeling more realistic, instead of just a better version of five minute a half FIFA, and the lines and pass speed/error is where that's done.

By default, the game creates an abundance of space because it's designed to be back and forth, up and down, without build-up play. Lowering the line lengthy by 4-5 ticks isn't going to do a damn thing in my opinion.

I was looking for long time something like this, it is so good and true life with the speed of everything.

Fifa has potencial, but it is missed. With this sliders the game is smooth. Also I would like to know if you can help me to adapt it, to play with 6-7 min halves (not enough time to play unlucky) .

                        thanks and regards

Re: Krebstar's FIFA 20 World Class Sliders

I had a cracking 2-2 draw at home against Man City in my West Ham's career mode after setting these sliders up.

To me the biggest difference was in Pass Speed. I tried using Matt10's sliders but still felt the pass was too strong, insanely arcadey. Lowering down to the 30s threshold "reboots" it to the natural feeling, where a short-press feels like a weak pass and long-press sends the ball away. Also the high FT Control Error makes for much more realistic player animations while trying to get a handle of the ball, especially from throw-ins.

I still hate how my RCM and LCM give up defending in the last third. I mean, if De Bruyne has got the ball and I am controlling Soucek at CDM, then De Bruyne overlaps Wilshere at the LCM, Wilshere won't try to chase him too - in other words, there won't be a temporary double marking, 2v1 on De Bruyne. Is there any special instruction I need to set up?

Thanks a lot for sharing these awesome sliders!

I had to wait until I finished a whole season before I give a honest review on these World Class slider sets. And wow, wow, wow, the midfield is spot on when it comes to how passing it intercepted like on the real life pich you see on TV. Everything else about your slider set gives a front row seat. I really appreciate what you have done to make this game playable.
I hope you come back and make the Fifa21 set just enjoyable as well [emoji6]

Re: Krebstar's FIFA 20 World Class Sliders

I hadn't picked up Fifa in awhile but when I was playing (mostly FUT mode), how arcadey it was and how irritating CPU defenders are was driving me insane.

And if you liked 3 at the back formations, forget about it 😂

It was fun but it's not real soccer.

I was looking for NBA 2k sliders and figured I'd poke into the fifa forums since I had never adjusted sliders. I just tried to use all the tactical directions (like forcing my fullbacks to stay back, sweeper keeper setting, etc) and that could offset some bad AI.

I put these sliders in and played a half of Dortmund v. Schalke and HOLY CRAP!

These are fantastic. It's like a real match. I'm not on edge every second. There's actual holding and build up play. And I feel like I can really control kick strength (goal kicks actually seem to work now).

I can't wait to play a match against my friend tomorrow with these.
