One thing I really hope EA would add is the ability to begin a career with the current date. I always begin a career after the January window and it sucks having to go through the first half of the season.

Why would any game dev add the option to start a career mid-season? Apart from you, who would want that? I would love it if they added the option to shut off all players' call names and leave just the PBP commentary. But I also realize I'm the only person on the planet who would want that, so I can't possibly expect them to include that as an option.

I think it's a cool idea. I used to sim half a season in Tecmo Bowl and try to make the playoffs with the worst team. It would be cool to be in a relegation dog fight.

If I'm not mistaken, NBA 2k14 had the feature. So it doesn't seem to be too outrageous of an idea, Yeats. I certainly don't think I'd be the only who would enjoy the feature. However it is my own opinion and I respect your decision to have your own opinion on the matter.

KG, it would be extremely fun to be in a relegation dog fight. It would be cool to try and keep a team like Sunderland up or maybe trying to keep Liverpool in a champions league spot. It would open up more ways to play career mode.

Seems like the worst idea since the jump to conclusion mat. Just sim the first half.

Sure of course. Anyway, as the previous poster suggested, just sim the first half. Seems like a reasonable solution.

I don't see how it's a bad idea, it'd be a mixture of a real season and gaming. Also I don't think it'd be difficult to implement, after all EA updates teams squads with formations and league positioning via MatchDay, there could be an option to play a season from a current league updated and finish it from there and go on.

Exactly. Even if you sim half-a-season yourself there's no guarantee that you can get the exact same scenarios as IRL.
