Updated roster in Christiano Ronaldo player mode challenge

I don't know if anyone has tried the new Christiano Ronaldo player challenge but I did last night and somehow it features the current Real Madrid roster with Kroos and James Rodriquez. The match of the week challenges still seem to feature the old rosters (was weird playing Liverpool-Southampton and having Rickie Lambert score the winning goal for Southampton) as well as play now mode.

Yeah, I noticed this on PS4 as well. In addition, all of my Kickoff matches still feature outdated rosters, even though I have the latest updates. Didn't check on Real Madrid to see if they're current.

EA hasn't updated the roster to reflect summer transfers. They did it for Fifa 13, but I'm guessing they won't do it this year.


However they did update the players for Ultimate Team, (I.E., Sanchez is now an Arsenal player on UT)

Normally I'm not on the EA hate bandwagon, because, mostly, I just don't care enough, but the lack of summer transfer updates is pretty lame. When you buy FIFA every year, it would be nice if the game was updated ALL year.

What's strange is that they would bother to update that particular challenge... and nothing else. Even the aforementioned Liverpool match has the old rosters.

Maybe it's the sign of a potential roster update after the transfer window has closed. Maybe.

I wonder if the player challenge mode is somehow tied to Ultimate Team, that or they updated the roster there because you only have access to one player.

The lack of transfer updates hadn't really bothered me before since I've been locked into an ongoing career for the past few weeks but with the new seasons getting started and things like the Liverpool-Southampton Match of the Week, its annoying with things like that- the transfers are the main if not only reason why that is even a notable match.

I was just asking this such thing in another thread...I don't have fifa 14 for ps4, but when was the last roster update on ps4?

Someone else can probably explain this better but basically, for MLS teams at least (maybe the other leagues with odd schedules as well) the rosters are up to date as of last week as far as player movements go, for the main European leagues whose seasons ended in May the rosters are only up to date up to the end of this past season- none of the summer moves have been made for those teams except where loans became permanent (like Lukaku with Everton).
