Player Roles - First Team

Has anyone ever figured out if "Crucial First Team" and "Important First Team" means starting XI or top 18? I've always assumed it was starting XI, but lately I've noticed a couple of guys I signed to one of these roles aren't complaining even though they've been demoted from the starting lineup. Other guys complain all the time if I don't "play" them. It would certainly help if I could keep a guy happy as a game day reserve.

Also, has anyone figured out exactly how much they need to play to be happy with their role?

Crucial expects to almost always be in the first team, while important expects to be there maybe 75% of the time
