The MLS will never be focused on in FIFA. At best it's the 6th best league in the world (and that's is easily argued with the Turkey Super Lig and others). They won't focus on the american league because overall in the sport it doesn't matter. This sounds harsh but it's true. They would piss more people off if they catered to the MLS than they would make happy.

No no, 7 games is too much. Basically, it plays like every other league for a while, in that they all get their points as they play. However there is a line in each conference, and if you're below it, you're not around for the play offs. If you are above it, you are. The rest is a quote from wiki

Quote:
Starting 2015, the top six teams in each conference qualify for the playoffs, playing in separate conference brackets. The first round of each conference has two one-off matches between the fourth- vs. fifth-place teams and the third- vs. sixth-, with the two higher seeds hosting. The lowest-seeded winner advances to play the conference's top seed, and the next-lowest playing the second in the Conference Semifinals. (This format matches that of the NFL Playoffs.)

The Conference Semifinals and Conference Finals are conducted in a home-and-away, aggregate-goal format. The team that scores the most goals in the home-and-away series advances to the two-game, total-goals Conference Finals or single-game MLS Cup Final, respectively.

Since 2014 the away goals rule is used. In both rounds the lower-seeded team hosts Game One and the higher-seeded team Game Two. If the teams are tied after two games (180 minutes) in the Conference Semifinals or Finals, the team which scored more goals away from home advances.

If there is still a tie after the away goals rule is applied, a 30-minute overtime period (divided into two 15-minute periods) will be played followed by a penalty kick shootout, if necessary. The away goals rule does not apply to goals scored in the overtime period."

You realize that North America purchases 15% of the FIFA games sold on an annual basis right?

65% of the games are sold in EMEA where I would bet a vast majority of users are covered by Prem, Bund, La Liga, and Series A. So while I don't think MLS should be prioritized over these leagues I do think it should be the next league up.

The bigger question is why couldn't the MLS get Premier League treatment? Realistically each region should have a major league covered with league specific presentation as to draw more fans into the game. The question is not should the MLS get better treatment than european leagues and more why isn't the every major global league given great presentation?

Some of this "high school atmosphere" stadiums are pretty spot on. Columbus is pretty quiet, and really doesn't get loud unless a Crew player scores.

I think that's a strong statement to make. The MLS is becoming extremely more competitive and watchable, not to mention the amount of money players could potentially make in this country if the sport truly blows up one day. I'd say MLS is 5th but gaining ground fast on Seria A in 4th. The NY RB academy team beat a Chelsea team with its starters playing. Albeit Courtois only played a half and it wasn't a game Chelsea prepped had for going in but the fact is a MLS team with 3rd string players beat a top 5 club in the world. David Luiz is on record saying MLS is becoming more desirable and soon could be among the worlds best.

Re: Any MLS updates coming to 2016?

I think we're going to see a significant power shift toward MLS over the next decade. Beckham kicked the doors open, now you've got Kaka, Gerrard, Lampard, Pirlo and Drogba winding up their careers here, not to mention guys like Rooney, Luiz, and even Ronaldo are saying they might like to play in America one day. Granted, none of these players will be in the prime of their careers if/when they eventually get here, but how much longer until that changes?
