What's the point of this, so late in the dev. cycle...?

So they can say that they got user feedback! I am somewhat serious, but it could also be to get feedback for early patches that need to come out.

Fair enough--I guess.

I just don't know why they wouldn't do this 3-4 weeks ago so as to allow proper feedback/suggestions.

But hey, it's the top selling video game in the world--they must be doing something right...

To say they got feedback and maybe find a few bugs or glitches within the modes themselves maybe? I'm assuming they aren't looking for gameplay feedback at this point. I'm not sure why else they would do an online seasons beta. It's a pretty straightforward mode so I guess they just want to know if it works? Builds a little hype for the game too I guess. I'm excited to play it but would've loved to be able to earlier and give gameplay feedback.

alot of it probably has to do with stability and gamebreaking or gamechanging issues. its just like with any game that has a huge online portion and then you find that 15 minutes after launch someone has found a way outside of a CoD map or found a glitched room in BF3/4 or found that crossing+header in the box is too over powered or now Y+LB is too overpowered. inhouse testing often can overlook some glaring issues because you are constantly testing specific issues or playing to a theme to make sure "some" aspects work like they should.

having a Beta on a near final build allows multiple types of users who aren't under workflow to find their own exploits or issues. if something becomes glaring, they have time to tweak it ahead of time for that Day1 patch.
