Gamescom thread for Fifa

So in approximately 11 hours and a half ea will be presenting at gamescom. I have hopes that they will announce changes to mm. There was a twitter campaign ea acknowledged and asked for a list from, a D hopefully they addressed it.

I know fut is a cash cow but that doesn't mean they should or will totally abandon single player.

Will ea release all info for us tomorrow morning or will it be in spurts?

Answer are quickly coming.

Most of the big announcements will be made at the presentation tomorrow morning, from there they'll be the usual commentary from those in attendance. Early buzz is that this latest build looks and plays great, hopefully that's true.

I can't wait for low quality videos of gameplay to be released featuring humans playing on the lowest difficulty against the AI!

But seriously, very excited it's finally time for Gamescom and some real news.

Everyone keeps saying they are putting so much time into ultimate team but as someone who plays it a lot every year, they really don't change much in that mode from year to year. Maybe a new menu with a few new features but for the most part it's kind of the same. One of the best things about the mode for EA is that they don't have to invest a lot of time/resources to make a huge profit. A lot of the updates are done after release anyway with team of the week and such. I'm cautiously optimistic that they really upgraded manager mode. They seem to be aware of its shortcomings at least. I wouldn't expect much from gameplay videos this week but the beta comes out in a week and we can expect to get hands on feedback from people who know how to play the game. Unfortunately there isn't really anything you can say in EA's favor about the stadium announcement we got yesterday, that was fairly disappointing.

If they don't update manager mode I'll be really let down. People have been complaining for a while now but this year was the first time it seemed like EA really took ownership of it and acknowledged it needed change. If you admit that it's lacking and then fail to show significant effort that would be.. well.. it would be very EA unfortunately.

But I will say, I am optimistic. I would love to see some form of creation center return as well now that PES has introduced it to their next gen offering.

I'd like to think that would be something EA wouldn't do, but they earned their reputation for the most part. They do seem to be committed to changing this perception and have shown improvement in a lot of their games since then. To acknowledge the problems and do nothing would be the biggest slap in the face though.
