Is there anywhere I can find the formula for Match Rating?

I've searched all over the internet for this but I've found nothing. Is this an "official" FIFA stat or is this a stat the game created? And is there anyone who has figured out the logic to it?

I notice that when I win my players consistently have a better match rating than the losing team, but beyond that I've got nothing. I can score a hat trick and still have a match rating of less than 7 or I can get no goals/assists and have a match rating in the 8's.
