Imagine that, a team that gets greedy and continues to try and score.

Just a soccer/futbol thing? How about some hockey?

Canada 6
Czech Republic 0

Imagine that real world sports is very bizarre. After a team scores they become very greedy and push harder and they end up scoring more goals sometimes. Perhaps we should just stop keeping score and instead, hand out participation awards.

Lets call it what they are at EA.

They make a nice looking game, FIFA, NHL, NBA, Madden, NCAA, etc....

They have enough money to grab the needed license to make presentation acceptable to top notch.

AI and strategy is not their strong suit, never has, never will be.

Most of their releases have a shortcoming, usually its on the field/pitch/court/ice...

And what backs up your claim? Because neither Madden, NHL, nor NCAA (defunct) has no competition to compare them too. NBA live's problem was mismanagement, and I, myself see nothing terrible about FIFA's AI. Perhaps that is just your own bias opinion you are espousing. I don't think you comprehend how difficult it is to code AI? Appreciate the sacrifice and hard work they put into these games.

What I was saying is that the AI actually picked up the pace and pushed harder after scoring their first goal, it happens almost every match. I played hockey for 18 years, it's kind of frowned upon to push harder when already in the lead unless you're against a rival or it's an important game.

that is not the case in Football.

You play to score goals, and obviously in the final 10 mins you conserve energy by not pushing aggressively for goals unless you need to, but if a team is considerably worse, you thump them because you can.

Italy were/are routinely frowned upon for being boring because they would get a 1-0 lead and sit on it for the whole game and utilise time wasting tactics.
