FIFA Mobile - regular season play?

I just got an Android phone powerful enough to play this smoothly. So is there really not any way whatsoever to JUST play a regular season with your favourite team in your league of choice?

Sorry, not possible. It is really just a glorified ultimate team game. That being said, I am having a lot of fun with it.

Yeah, I hear ya, it's just not my cup of tea. I'm just somebody who wants to play an actual match. This new gameplay drives me bonkers. Its not why I play sports games, thats all. FIFA used to be the regular game on Android. Shame they changed it but money talks to the devs.
