Tips for playing Online instead of the AI/tips

Hello;

I would like to gain some tips against playing against people online instead of the Computer. I play on Professional and do pretty well. For you guys on here that are expects and really good, what separates, the really good players vs the guys that just play alot? Can you tell whose really good, if so what are you doing?

I started to play with a friend in the co op mode, and i think him and i disagree on strategies. Vs the Computer i tend to sit back, counter attack and pass alot and wait for an opening, then strike but i dont know how that will work online. We played a couple matches, and my partner was a straight up attacker who actually never really passed back and only went forward.

ANy tips, advice would be appreciated.
