2012 Roster Creation

I'm going to start creating the 2012 roster. My goal is to make the roster as accurate as possible, including all real names and accurate realistic player ratings. I will be dedicated to completing this goal as soon as possible, so any help would be welcomed and appreciated.

I believe OKCThunder brought this up on another thread but looking into Hex Editing the game will be important for changing player classes. Here's an older thread I found that talks about Hex editing a bit: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...editor-41.html

The pac 10 goes to the pac 12 next season...any ideas of how to remedy this?

The only way to fix the conference thing would be via hex editing. Do u think changing player classes is a MUST cuz without having to do that we could get these rosters a lot faster. BTW, which roster are using as the base because I remeber the one Bigsheen did last year was really good and has all power conferences+horizon+MWC named and rated from 2010-11.

Im not sure the name of my base roster, but its updated well enough.

ALso, I agree that we shouldn't get hung up on changing classes. That really only affects if you're playing a dynasty mode and we can also deal with that later down the road if we feel the need.

I'll hopefully be done with the pac 10 sometime tonight and then I'll try uploading the roster so you can have a turn at it. I think the best thing is if we edit by conference to keep things organized and easy to follow.

BTW, I have a ps3...that makes a big difference if we can/can't actually share files, right?

And thanks for the reply Thunder. It sounds to me from reading your previous posts that you share my desire to do this accurately.

As far as resources, if you go to each school's athletics website, most have updated their rosters for the 2012 season already. For recruits, I've used different top 50 rankings and searched youtube to find videos on top players. This helps with appearance, left/right hand, and style of their game. And BTW Josiah Turner, freshman heading to Arizona is going to be sick!

Yeah Josiah practically kicked MoMo Jones off the team so he better be good.

So let me get it staright r we just editing players apperances/ratings for all returning players like sullinger,barnes,etc. then adding freshman out of the departing seniors from the base roster or are we redoing all players like turning some soph on Ohio into sullinger???

Thanks for the link. As far as editing, I've just been changing seniors into freshman and leaving classes alone (so, Kyle Fogg is still a junior). Also, I increase the rating of players who I think will have bigger seasons (ie Fogg from 75 to 77).

For now I just want to get rosters as accurate as we can, editing names, appearances, and ratings. Down the road and as the season gets closer, we can keep improving it and add updated versions...

I have 6 pac 10 teams done, hopefully I'll finish sometime tonight and upload it.

Okay, all finished updating the Pac10 and I've uploaded online I believe.

The roster file is named 2k12ncaax. My user name is PDX_RipCity, let me know if you have any problems.

I think we should trade off doing one conference each until its done. It took me roughly 5-6 hours to edit the pac10. Let me know what conference you'll be updating and when you think you'll be finished.

Also the ratings are far from perfect, but almost passable. Mainly, I think we should focus on getting names and appearances correct for the roster, and get rating close enough. Then from there we will have a 2012 base roster that we can all do whatever we want with.

i can do the big east, and i think we should work on changing the player classes because it really helps the experience. if someone could tell me how i can do that.

Yeah but it will take a LOT (about 2-3 hours each team) more time to edit player classes. You could start working on the Big East if u want to today.

Blondeman, editing classes 100% accurately is not possible without using Hex Editing (google search for info). You can re-edit every player and try to change classes that way, but like Thunder said, it would take you a LONG time and would be somewhat pointless since you couldn't get most of roster 100% accurate anyway.

For example, lets say UCLA had 4 seniors in 2010, but only have 3 next season, well then you're ****ed and there's no way to change that (besides complicated hex editing). Unfortunately, this is just the way it is.

To EVERYONE THAT WORKS ON THE ROSTER:

Communication is KEY! When its your turn with the file, you MUST post on the forum and let each other know WHEN, WHAT, and HOW LONG you plan on editing the roster. We dont want two ppl to be editing two different files and then there would be no way for us to combine those edits, it would just be a huge waste of time for someone.

So, Blondeman, you are working on the Big East today, correct? Please estimate how long it'll take you, and when you'll upload an updated copy. This way, we can plan on who works on it next, sometime later this week hopefully. I'm anxious to get started on another conference soon!

Also, any problems finding or downloading the roster file?
