I don't think you can, you must use EA's latest update, which dates from 2015.

Hi NHL fans,

I dont seem to have the option to download with the "3 dots" on the drop box screen. How do you guys get the file? I tried save as but it doesnt give you the compressed file.

Sorry if its a dump question. I thought maybe there are restrictions on the drop box file?

I was able to download via my cellphone and foward the attachment to my computer. The 3dots were there so all good.

You have to use nhlview to get it like that.

And the game still has crowd audio. You can simply mute the crowd in the audio section though. Even eliminate commentary so it feels like a full on practice game.
