honestly, i swear, my d play the best when im using "contain puck or protect net". you could also adjust the forecheck bar, from the middle white default to 2 clicks into the red. that should get the d to cheat a bit more towards the blueline when in your own end.

also, even look into using just the standard or conservative offensive aggressiveness approach. why? bc your d will take less chance up the ice.

Re: AlTito's NHL 14 Sliders

So I've been trying all kinds of sliders, and there's always one problem... When I'm playing Pro or higher, I can never win faceoffs even if the slider for CPU faceoff is at 0...but then when I play Rookie and the slider is maxed, I'm still winning every single faceoff. Really want to play at a higher level without losing every single faceoff, any advice? Oh and I use hybrid controls if that makes a difference. Thanks!

I dont clearly understand the meaning of attribute effects... What if the attribute effects are set at 0?

Re: AlTito's NHL 14 Sliders

With the attribute effects slider at 0, attributes don't matter at all.

With the attribute effects slider at 3, attributes are untouched.

With the attribute effects slider at 4, attributes of 76 and above are increased while attributes of 75 and lower are decreased.

With the attribute effects slider at 5, attributes of 85 and above are increased while attributes of 84 and lower are decreased.

With the attribute effects slider at 6, attributes of 88 and above are increased while attributes of 87 and lower are decreased.

Re: AlTito's NHL 14 Sliders

What about with the attribute effects slider at 1 and 2, any detailed info about that?

Also, it would be interesting to know that if the effect slider is set to zero, and therefore as you say attributes don't matter at all, then at what level are the attributes set?

I did a test last year where I took a player and changed his slap shot power attribute to different values, then tested it in the shot practice while also adjusting the attribute effects slider. Here are the results:
