Trade Deadline Day

As people in Canada know, trade deadline day in the NHL is a huge day. There are day-long shows dedicated to it and there are double-didgit trades leading up to and during the day. However, in NHL 09, trade deadline day means nothing.

Here's an idea I have. On trade deadline day, you are directed to a totally new screen that lasts for a certain amount of time (depends on your prefrence). Here you will get constant offers from other teams and you can offer trades. There will be a ticker at the bottom annoncing all the other trades from around the league. There should also be more realistic trades like pending free agents going to contenders and teams trying to rebuild trading away players for prospects and draft picks.

This will make the game a lot more realistic and fun IMO. What do you think?

That would be awesome. I only play dynasty so I would love for more options and realistic features like this.

I want the dynasty to be as in depth as possible. Better trades, trade block, better scouting, make better prospects for the draft, make it possible to get fired and offered jobs with new teams and the option to resign as coach and choose a new team, etc.

Making trade deadline day and the draft more immersive and accurate to real life would be awesome!

As a former TSN employee I say boo....its the most overhyped useless day especially with salary cap now. Snoozefest of Tv.

The day was created by two channels that detest eachother and try and one up the other.

I've worked for both channels and the hate for each side is high school esk and childish.

Could trade deadline day use some more hooray in the game sure....but don't make it the joke it has become in real life...please!

Agreed, that would be pretty awesome, great idea Clarke_311! Trades seem like they'll already be much better in NHL 10, the producers @ EA are already talking about the CPU teams being much more aware of what players you have, what they have and what kinds of players they need which sounds promising.

How is it overrated in the cap world? The two busiest days in NHL trade deadline history were both since 2005.
