    Why no "GG" option?

I've been thinking about this as I'm splitting my time between Starcraft and NHL (EASHL) this week. Why doesn't this game give us an option to just "GG" ("good game") out of a game and move on to the next one?

EASHL games are already pretty long at least from online game standards (about a minimum of a half hour to finish one game) and when you're down several goals in the first period to a team that is clearly better than you, why can't we just leave and not mess up our DNF %?

I mean the other team would still get the win, but they wouldn't get the opportunity to pad their stats--which I'm ok with, considering they're doing so at the expense of someone else's fun, which should be the primary concern--let the good players get wins, but don't force the bad players to suffer through unwinnable games for 40 minutes and rack up -8 on their +/- just because the matchmaking made a bad decision.

It would be nice if we had some more options for ending games and not appearing to have bad manners. Sometimes you just know when you're beat!

This should be in all online games. I don't know why Blizzard can do it but no other company can.

I wouldn't say no other company... EA's Madden series has this option. They call it Concede defeat/Mercy Quit.

I agree, it would be real nice if after the final whistle, the chat channel was open for a little bit of after game friendly trash talk or just to say good game. You'll still have bad sports who will quit right out, but it would be a quality addition for those people who play the game 'right'

I still think a majority of the people would just quit out/pull the plug. We are in the minority in that we think the idea of playing a good, fair, equally skilled/matched, means more than our personal stats at the end of the game.

Unfortunately, there are sooooo many losers out there in the online videogame world. People would probably find more joy in just quitting, than just conceding defeat. Considering I have played people that will quit if I am up a goal at the end of the first period, and others that will quit the second you go up by 1 in the 3rd.

However, I think its a great idea. It wouldn't hurt at all to implement it. It could only do good.

The reason is people would exploit it. Want to get your 30 games quick for your vet card? Just find another team out there that will quit 30 times for you, then reverse and do the same for them.

Sadly, this is what online gaming has become.

You could then just associate those "x games played" achievements with "x*3 periods completed". Win/win?

Not really, because then people legitimately getting their games could lose out from quitters.

If people actually played honestly and to just have fun, this would be fine. That's not the community we're dealing with unfortunately.

you can already do that just play the first 2 minutes and it counts
will not change this until a buffalo team wins a championship.
