    Question about diving pokecheck tuning/fix

Are you guys aware that the dive n' slide bug is still present? (IE: dive from the blueline and you will slide all the way to the end boards?")

I know one of the tuners apparently increased the friction but it either did not work, wasn't enough, or actually made it worse.

    Re: Question for RedShirt

Diving, as a tactic, almost needs to be removed.

It is far too effective for what it is. I can't even count how many breakaways have been broken up by some dive from behind .... a move that is desperation, at best. Or the number of times I pass the puck and the opponent dives to the ice (center ice) to block it.

    It's foolish.

yup, i know ea wants the user to have full control of their player. but guess what full player control got nba elite 11? delayed and possbily shut down for the year.

stuff like diving all over the ice needs to be limited. can only dive from behind to breakup a breakaway. but when you dive, you cant slide 75 feet full speed to break up a play. needs to work say 1 out of however many times you want to add here.

but the casual gamer playing NHL 11 thinks that guys dive on every shift of the night in the actual NHL.. so all is right in the ea world.

Actually, its being fixed in the patch. Its been said in the bug thread and the tuning one, so another brand new thread to rant on "EAs world" isn't neccessary.

The change didn't work because the variable that needed to be adjusted was erroneously not included in the set of those which can be changed with post-ship tuning. That will be corrected with the patch and then the friction will be increased.

See above. But congrats on being the first (that I've noticed) to invoke NBA Elite as rhetoric to try to make a point about NHL.

                  Re: Question for RedShirt

While increasing friction (and reducing the speed - let's admit it, the slowest a player can be when trying to go full speed is jumping or sliding) is a welcomed change, something needs to truly address the pure lunacy of open ice diving.

I don't mind the drop to stop the one timer, but dropping in the neutral zone or around the opponent's net, simply to apply forecheck is stupid. I can't flip the puck over these individuals (as the saucer pass stinks). I can't skate around them easily enough. The deke is too slow and requires stick skills.

Right now, I have people diving at my feet at an **** pace simply because it is a surefire way to dislodge the puck.

                  Please fix this.

Is there an ETA of when this patch should be released and when can we expect to get some details of what is going to be included in it ?

The dive from behind to me is broken because of how often the stick goes through the legs. If it hits the skate it will trip, but you can hit someone in the knee with a dive and they won't go down, so you just lay there and eliminate them from deking to that side.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to seeing what the patch notes will be...and when. If I remember right...I think Red_Shirt said it's in Sony/MS hands now, and their waiting for certification. Again...I at least think Jason said that.

I would be happy if there was a way to shut down the inside outside move altogether. players reply way too much on that move to get past the goalie since it works 98% of the time. 100% if you perform it correctly. It's the biggest money goal in the game. Redshirt is there anything that can be done to fix it? Second biggest money goal gripe is all the goals scored down low ( wrap arounds) and walking out from the corners.

Oh I got one more thing that needs to be removed from the game. When playing OTP/Online, The AI should never dive in desperation. I don't know how many times I could have made a good defense play and the player I want to change to dives, and leaves me with no defenders close enough to make a play.

oh and one more. Players online rely WAY too much on having the CPU perform the fore checking for them. Most players like to switch to a defender furthest away from the puck and let the AI get the puck off an opponent. Not only is it way too effective, but the AI hardly takes any penalties when doing it. I've even seen people lock themselves to the goalie or defense position, and let the AI handle their offense too.
