    deflections?

is there any trick to getting your players to get a deflection on shot from point? is a wrist shot or simple snap shot preferable to a slapper? it would follow that a shot on ice is better, right? except i seem to be getting more random deflection on the shots im sending to the top corners????

is there a button i'm missing that would make my player screening the goalie to try for a deflection when shot is coming from point?

thank in advance to anyone with some advice

My understanding si that the higher their Hand Eye stat is the better deflections they will perform...

OFF Awarness might have something to do with that as well.

If anything, button pressing could just end up causing your player to miss a deflection chance. You just need to be in proper position for it.

From my experience, holding the L2/LT helps as well...

For example, if your defenceman is about to take a shot from the point, and you're screening the goalie, holding the L2/LT button will make sure your player is following the puck, and if it's near him, it seems to help him try to make a deflection.

Again, this is just my experience.

low to mid slap shots from the point work for me, usually get more tips if i shoot more towards the middle of the ice (still along the blue line though)

            Yep, my experience too KraZe.

Especially when I'm shooting from the point, I always pull the LT [360].

Correctomundo... since when you're pressing L2/LT you're facing the puck (the shooter) so your chance of deflecting is much greater.
Also I've noticed that the softer the shot the higher the chance of deflecting.
So a soft wrister, low to mid, has a greater chance of being deflected. However, on the rare occurance a player deflects a high power slap shot I guess the chances of it going is bigger.

But as Rob mentioned above, don't press anything else than L2/LT as it will most likely cause you to do womething else than trying to deflect.
