The EA "online pass" thing is stupid

EDIT: Okay I wrote that in a knee jerk of being really annoyed. Sorry if I came off like a dickhead.

It only works for your one gamertag? So what, now my brother has to spend ten dollars, after we already bought a 60 dollar game, just so he can play online?

It even says, right on EA's site:

"Do I need an unique Online Pass for every user on my console?

No. One Online Pass will give online access to multiple users logged into the console where the Online Pass was first activated (subject to the console manufacturer’s and EA online terms of service).

Also, the user that activated the Online Pass will be allowed to access online features on other consoles (of the same manufacturer) by logging into the same account credentials that they used when they enabled the Online Pass.
    "

But my brother's trying to play on his account, and it's saying he needs to buy a pass. Halp.

Despite EA's false advertisement, each gamertag must have their own online pass to play online, use online features, etc...

i think this is what the OP is trying to get at...... how come EA false advertisement can get away without any consequence????? of course we can't sue EA for false advertisement.

IIRC, there is a way of working an EA account so that you can have multiple PSN's (or XBL ID's, I assume) to work on the same ID/gamertag. I do that on BFBC2, my brother and I both share our PS3 console, we linked our individual PSN's to my EA ID and now we both have VIP access right out of the box. I would think this would work for NHL as well, although he does not play NHL 11 so I honestly haven't tried it with this game.

Yeah, that's blatant false advertisement if I've ever seen it. Either that or it's just coded wrong in the game, and it's SUPPOSED to let you use it on multiple tags, but it just doesn't.

Double-J, how did you link two PSN ID's to one EA ID? I have the game on 360, so it probably won't work, but how did you do it?

Yeah, I did the same thing for my little brother. I gave him my old 360, but he wanted his own gamertag. I just had to register his GT with my account on EA's site.

I can be done, but they don't exactly make it the easiest thing to figure out on the site.. But I'm sure if you poke around the site, and your account settings, you can figure it out.
