Lock/Unlock Feature in CAP

Anyone know exactly what the Lock/Unlock feature does when you're creating/editing a player?

It's so you don't accidently edit those attributes, when you lock them that is.

That's what I thought. However, I tried locking a few things but it still enabled me to change them while they where locked. Meh.. Idk.. it's a mute point now, I traded in NHL and got FIFA '11. Can't wait for NHL '12 though. Thanks for the response Savoie. Much appreciated.

Locking something will prevent it from being randomized, in the event you choose to do so. I used to do this to select a # as well as a name sometimes, Crash Cyclone and Francois Musclewhite were the two best randomly generated names. Anything unlocked will be randomized.
