Who else is using true broadcast cam?

Now that we have it, who is using this as their default angle? I am and am really getting the hang of playing on it. I just can't go back to the other older angles. What say you mates?

Same here. took me about 8 games to really get used to it but now that I have its all I will play with. Sometimes I truly feel like I am watching the game on TV when playing on this view
Ravens * Canucks * Blue Jays * UCLA

Im using it a little less everytime I play, unfortunately. Those bad camera angles in the corners are ruining it for me. All the devs have to do is zoom out just a tad when play is in the corners so u can see a little pass the blue line. And yes, zoom is off in my settings. Im trying my best to stick with it tho.

I used it. But I've stopped playing til penalties are addressed... That aspect is kinda killing my joy.

        Otherwise it's great

I was using it, but then I realized it's not really a "true" broadcast cam. It's too zoomed in, especially when you're in the offensive zone. It makes it impossible to see your defensemen. If your offense is dependent on blue line cycling then you're screwed.

Especially since half the time your defensemen let the puck go right past them when you pass it to them anyway.

If they would just zoom it out a little bit I would use the camera more.

Is there a zoom setting for this cam? 2k10 has 10 point zoom setting available to adjust.

I tried my 1st game with TBC last night and think EA could have done a better job so we dont lose sight of our player in the corners even with zoom off.

I too really like it and have no interest in the other angles because of it. But like others have said, when the puck goes into the near corners it's a real pain. And also, sometimes when switching players, it switches to players that are not on screen. That's do impart to EA's wacky player switching and how too zoomed in the camera is set.

I like the way it looks, but I just can't seem to get used to the controls in that view.

I feel like I have way more precision using the ice cam that I have always used.

It's not just control. I don't think you see the ice as strategically from that view. When going up you see playey breaking to your left or right. On broadcast. You don't see the way players come open the same way. To me it just doesn't translate well to play. From a control standpoint, and strategic one as well.

I use and love it, don't get me wrong I still play vertically sometimes. True broadcast to me is like what I see on tv and for me that can't b beat. It really feels like a completely different game in this view, it's like 2 hockey games in one.

i totally agree however i play ice view online. its looks so much like tv its scary however u do lose the d men since its a bit too zoomed in. is there way to zoom out a bit in custom camera or is the custom cam,era only for vertical views....i havent tried yet? but its so much more difficult than playing up/down. it truly does feel like a new game to me. whats the difference btwn true & reg broadcast though?

This is exactly how I feel. I love the way it looks but I don't feel I can block the passing lanes of put myself in the correct position defensively as easily with true broadcast camera.

Nope, no custom camera for true broadcast. There is auto zoom on/off, I play with it off. Yes, I c everyone's point about not seeing your d men sometimes and also for it being harder to judge defensive angles and whatnot but I feel the positives outweigh the negatives. I actually play on pro level with the speed at 1 or zero(players seems faster and ice is smaller looking in true broadcast). When I play vert I usually play on allstar with the speed at like 3. Also I don't play online often but if I do I will play on vert ice cam, I would feel at a disadvantage otherwise. Basically when I play the comp, especially in gm mode Im not looking to win and dominate every game, I'm cool with hard fought games that can go either way.

Re: Who else is using true broadcast cam?

I have played it every day on the demo until yesterday when I picked up my retail copy of the game. It takes quite a while to adjust but last night I felt I broke through from just enjoying the angle and the look of play to starting to really gain competency.

At first on this angle, the skill stick was an immediate casualty and I never tried to deke, it was too awkward and there never felt like enough time. Now I am throwing some dekes, making much better passes, setting up far more easily in my offensive zone for cycling and getting off one timers to the open d man.

I am playing with auto aim on. Without it slap shots would frequently whip past the goalie head high and hammer the glass. My passing % is about 75 at the end of a game on default passing sliders. Am noticing with good defense the ai giving up missed passes and by games end are also in the 70's for completion %. This is on pro with the cpu ai down one notch, faceoffs down 2 and penalties maxed.

The only real negative I have is on the pk if I have the puck behind my own net and look to slap dump along the cameras-side boards when going left of screen my player always shots it high over the glass incurring a penalty. Had a few 3 on 5 pk's because of it.

Overall, I just love this view is.

Yep, using it exclusively here so far. Tried it in the demo and didn't like it at first because of the controls, but after spending time in free skate with it I started to get the hang of it. I find I rely a lot less on side to side dekes without it, which feels like its leading to some more realistic and more organic gameplay for me. I'm really loving it so far.
