me personally? i sim some games completely or just sim a few periods then intervene and if i have time, play a few full games. its just random lol, whatever I feel. I know It would take me forever to play a full season without simming.

I think the game is okay, but I haven't played an EA hockey title since NHL 11, so it's worth it for me. I use Fiddy14's sliders, they're good enough for me.

Haven't gotten NHL 14 yet so rocking the 13. Detroit Red Wings playing all the games. 5-3-4 record really struggling to score and struggling to keep the other team from scoring goals. I'm playing the Grand Rapids Griffins games as well and currently 4-6-1 with them. Same boat really can't keep teams from scoring resulting in my loosing record.

Re: How's Your GM Mode going?

Last night I simmed the first 2 seasons of my new Canes franchise that I had to restart because of the patch and to use the latest rosters to correct the goalie bug.

End of season 1, got to the draft, Pittsburgh offered me a trade before the 1st pick. Their 1st rounder this year (2014), 22nd it was, plus a first next year (2015, which was still not worth much because they're the penguins), for Adrej Sekera. He was about an 83 or so, and I pulled the trigger. Had a reasonable draft in 2014, and off I went to sim season 2 (2015).

Finish up the season, miss the playoffs, again. Team has a lot of potential though. Get to the draft, and who has 1st pick?

Winnipeg won the Cup, and Pittsburgh tanked their way to 1st pick? 2 years from now? I can't see it! Either way, I took a 4.5 green offensive D man with #1 pick, everything really did come up Milhouse.

Time to get my teeth in to season 3, and Captain Eric's contract is up at the end of it. $8.25m a year he was on. Will my Center prospects have come through, or will I need to resign him for a few years? I can't afford to do it at $8.25m a year!

Re: How's Your GM Mode going?

I have seen a couple times in this thread people wanting tp know what sim strategy we use or how many games we play....so.

If I am rebuilding a team, I only play home games against teams with a losing record. That way, I am only beating teams that suck unless the team I have built can win in sim. I feel like this gives me enough games to play during the season that it stays fresh and I don't get bored.

When the team is good I play home games against division opponents and home games against teams in the other conference with a losing record.

I have my own slider set that gives me really great results. As realistic as I've ever seen. I can post these f you'd like.

Re: How's Your GM Mode going?

Just started with the leafs. I'm trying not to make a whole bunch of trades to start off. I want to slowly change the team. I've made a couple of moves and a couple of signings. I've also edited some players around the league and in the juniors. For my team I edited Rielly to 78 overall cause that way he's a depth dman like he has sort of been in real life so far for the Leafs this season. And I made Leivo 4 and a half gold star since I think he is gonna be amazing in real life. Can't remember all the players I edited, but at least 1 for each team in the NHL/AHL. I also made McDavid 5 Green stars and I made Crosby 5 green stars too just cause I can't have McDavid get better than him.
Lines:
JVR Bozak Kessel
Lupul(A) Kadri Clarkson
Raymond McClement(A) Bolland
McLaren Arnott Orr
Phaneuf(C) Franson
Gardiner Ranger
Rielly Kubina
Bernier
Reimer
Scratched: Fraser
I play a lot of the games, but also sim quite a few. I thought Arnott was great for my fourth line since he can win faceoffs and he's big. Kubina was a good right handed defenceman to play with Rielly or Gardiner. Fraser has been minus each game he's played so that's why he's scratched. I'm looking to make a move with either Gardiner or Phaneuf. Any ideas?

Forgot to mention. Kuleman went to Ottawa for Puempel. Fans hate that I made a trade with our rivals lol. Also sent Gunnarsson to Vancouver for Corrado.
