New Broadcast Team for NHL '15

I'm really looking forward to hearing the new broadcast team of Doc, Enzo, and Ferraro. I think it was time for some fresh voices and I think Doc and Enzo are 2 of the best. Curious about what everyone else thinks

Hopefully they can do much better job that commentary in the past. Obviously when you first play the game the commentary will be so great, but hopefully it doesn't get old/repetitive too fast.

They better not be "dulled down" though. The NHL series used to have Jim Hughson as commentator for so many years, but I find he was so much better in real life commentating than in the video game. MLB has run into this problem too. Matt Vasgersian sounds boring on the games commentary, but when I heard him during a real game for the first time ever,I didn't even recognize his voice cause he was so much diff/better in real life. Even Madden series with the CBS guys doesn't sound as good.

NBA 2K series is really the only one where the commentators don't seem boring and actually sound just like they do in real life.

I was OK with the current announcers just thought they needed new/more commentary. If they screw up with this new team I'm gonna be pizzed off at all you guys who complained about wanting new announcers, LOL...

if they have the same enthusiasm as they do on tv, it will hard to put the controller down this year

There is bound to be some repetition, but I do hope it sounds fluid like 2K14. I can live with lines being repeated as long as is sounds like an actual broadcast and not a event triggered sound bite.

From what I understand they didn't just hand Emrick and Olczyk a script. They would watch a scenario, and then record free form commentary for it 10 times or whatever. If this is actually the case in how they did it this time out, it should not only sound more realistically natural, but not sound like it's being read off a script sitting in front of them. Doc's done game commentary before, and it didn't sound all that great, but I'm thinking with how they're pushing presentation this year as a major thing, it should at least be as good as Thorne & Clement were if not better.

I really liked Thorne and Clement but there's only so many ab libs along the lines of washing up on a sandy shore even I could take before it got old 5 years in.

It'll be interesting to see what the 3rd man between the glass element brings to EA's game.

Ray Ferraro is the 3rd man, thankfully we don't have to put up with Pierre "DoucheCanoe" McGuire.

I just hope that its relevant to the play on the ice. Its too bad they did not just keep the old commentators and add in the new team as well. It would have added so much more having two different broadcast crews.

Wouldn't fit into the new presentation package, people would complain Thorne and Clement feel disjointed compared to the new stuff. Granted people are going to complain regardless, it's what they do.

I don't think they'll be able to capture Doc's intensity which makes him better than the rest. But I'm excited to hear how they sound.

It's a shame that Gary Thorne & Bill Clement's reputation as hockey announcers seems to taken a hit thanks to NHL 10-14.

It is a shame, I love Gary Thorne, if he wasn't tied in to doing Orioles games and ESPN still did hockey would love to see him calling hockey games again. Clement is much better in real life than he is reading a script, can't really fault him for that.

I excited for the freshness of a new broadcast team, but even more than that look forward to the new presentation package that is coming with it.
