There are much bigger experts than I, but if that's all you plan, I'd say it really isn't necessary for you to upgrade to 15. I do like the Be a GM mode due to the gameplay in 15 better, but if you don't play that, I'm thinking you are okay where you are.

I've tried to play Gm mode and I just suck at it. I don't know why I just do.
So cost aside, is NHL15 a good upgrade from NHL14?
I hear the stats and player progression are much better and so is the gameplay.
I'm thinking of upgrading but hoping the game truly is better than '14.
Honestly depends on how much you you play, and what you play. If you are a big Be a GM or Be a Pro player I say it's worth it. If you are just a single game player I'm not sure it's worth the upgrade. That said, I feel the gameplay with slider adjustments is a nicely refined over 14.
Hank, I think there are enough upgrades to the gameplay to make NHL 15 worth picking up. In the end, the game isn't going to be worlds different from NHL 14, but there are noticeable improvements on the ice.
I think NHL 15 last gen is the best in the series. My favorite for sure.
Following your posts in this thread and the Be a GM progress thread inspired me to pick up the last gen version today. What difficulty are you playing on and are you using any particular slider set? Thanks!
For anyone on the fence, Toys r Us has $50 off any 2 (mix & match, last or current gen.) EA sports titles this week, so it ended up being $35 + tax after I returned the 2nd game.

Aside from the bouncy puck problem in 14 that has been eliminated I have heard in 15 in what ways is the game better?

All Star, 10 min periods.. penalties MAX and maxed for CPU and AI teammate penalties, AI strategy adjustment +4 (the same as the CPU strategy adjustment slider) I use auto aim, but that's just a preference.
I think that's about all I've changed - start from hardcore, which adjusts some sliders right off the bat.

Play the current gen game and you'll see... hahaha..
Seriously.. puck physics, hitting engine, game play just seems much more organic to me. It's more like an NHL 14.5, but overall an excellent game. Player progression is also much better in this years version.
