Turn off real roster rules?

Is there a way to turn off real life roster restrictions and rules? I'm playing franchise mode and using a lot of young guys in the pre-season and I know if they don't make the team the game forces them to go back to Juniors. Is there a way to turn off the real life rules so I can put them in the AHL and call them up if needed?

I think the only workaround (from what I remember in NHL 19...haven't made it far enough in 20 yet to see if it works) is to trade the player to the AHL team before you start the game mode.

Might work, might not...worth a try though if you're set on breaking the sacred tradition of junior eligible players not getting paid...
