Issues with TOO MUCH scoring…

It doesnt seem to matter what I do with the sliders, the scoring for both myself and the CPU is just out of control. Just had consecutive games on ALLSTAR that were 8-5 and 7-6. In the second game, I boosted cross crease reaction time AND save reaction time to 100. Things seemed better going into the third period as it was 3-3, then the third was another ridiculous period where each team scored three times and sent the game into OT 6-6. The goals actually became annoying.

I have the game playing beautifully other than the goaltenders being abysmal. I am 13 games into my season and my team is averaging 4.6 goals per game and 4.1 goals against. That is out of control.

I am wondering if the difficulty adjustment being 6/6 is causing issues.

After my last game I lowered shooting sliders significantly down into the 30’s for most, but I havent been able to test them yet.

Ive played with almost every slider set on this forum and have the same problem with an over abundance of goals. I appreciate the goal variety but this is getting stupid.

I am on 6 minute periods. Both goaltenders in my franchise have save percentages UNDER .800

That is no bueno. Any thoughts on this?

Anyways, I am going to be figuring this out this weekend I hope.

I might have found the magic slider set. I haven't seen the scoring you have. I was having trouble scoring (and still am) but average scores were around 4-2 in cpu's favor in previous games.

I play on Superstar and had the best game I've ever played (full disclosure: I have only played 6 so far) I lost 1-0 but a very balanced game. Shot were 26-24 in favor of the cpu with 8 minute periods. I can share if you'd like. The biggest thing this set eliminated is those garbage scrum goals in front of my own net. Game felt very realistic and goalies are very hard to beat.

I have the opposite problem of not enough goals. At one point I had three straight 1-0 games. Gotten better recently since messing with settings etc.

Im grateful I had this problem. I have fixed the issue and this game is now playing like a dream. After many years, i will be releasing my first slider set in many years soon.

I’ve been using a mashup of a bunch of sliders to make my own as well and think I have it in a good spot as well.

I'm having issues now 18 games into my franchise. Averaging 4 goals a game and giving up 4.3 goals against.

I'm using my own sliders as well as an almost default slider set. No matter which ones I use, game plays solid, but the scoring is just out of control.

I personally thought it was tied to AE at 10, but played games with it at 5 and same issue.

I'm liking how I got the game feeling on both sets, but im trying not to make drastic changes but man something has got to give.

EDIT - I'm using Aim Assist as well, if I was on Manual I'd average 8 goals a game. lol

I think it comes down to the goalies just not being good enough or too good.

I've found a good balance to the skaters IMO but still scoring and giving up too many goals.

I've also found that even lowering shot sliders I've seemingly give up more goals than when they are on default.

It's very confusing for me. I'm chalking it up to EA just not giving the goalies more love. The skaters/flow I've got to a great spot but it's the scoring that's too much.
