Is there a way to control the AI hyper scoring

The last game I was able to play by adjusting sliders to play a decent game was NHL 23.

NHL 24 - no matter how I adjusted my sliders I could go from my defensive zone to the opposing teams offensive zone along the left or right boards, and the AI would not engage or even make an attempt to engage till I turn for the net deep in the offensive zone. Gould not adjust the sliders to fix this.
I don't play on Pro as you can skate circles around AI players and they don't really engage.

NHL25- I used my sliders, ajusted, used sliders recommended here with adjustments and the game will play good., However, every game so far at one point the AI will score 3, 4 or 5 goals in rapid succession in one period. This Uber offense is killing the game for me.

What slider can I adjust to stop this.

I get this behavior on All-Star and Super Star (although I feel the game plays better on Superstar).

How do you play defense? Are you aggressive and trying to hit/take the puck away? I only ask because most people that I know that have issues with giving up a lot of goals on higher difficulties is because they are trying to hit the CPU too much instead of collapsing and trying to force bad angle shots and/or poke checking the puck away and creating turnovers.

If you go around trying to hit all the time in the defensive zone, you will leave the slot open and the CPU will pick you apart.

I play defense by having my controlled man in front of the net covering the open player. I try not to chase the puck and pick times when I believe that I have a chance to get the puck when near the boards.

The issue is I have my goalie sliders at 95. A lot of goals are when the player is coming down the ice (not a breakaway) and he shoots from the top of the face off circle. Sometimes I am neck and neck with him or on a two on two. But the goalie seems to miss a lot of these. I have the AI goalie slider about 50 and find it hard to score but can do it. It seems a little messed up on how easy it is for the AI to score on a goalie slider setting at 95.

You have to force the player to shoot from a bad angle essentially, specifically on their natural wing. So a lefty shot on the left side, righty shot on the right side. Goalies save if most of the time, but have to put some pressure on the shooter so it’s less accurate. I play on Superstar, so not sure if it’s the same on lower difficulty levels.
