Yes you can, but in Season mode. I play as every home team or as Montreal if they play. I also like the fact that I control trades and move players as it happens in the real NHL.
You can sim the games you do not want to play or even CPU vs CPU . The hard part is making sure you scroll through the teams to make sure you play the games you want on that calendar date.

Season mode is my favourite mode.

How? I have never seen a way to do Franchise with more than one team

Oops edit, it was to say yes in Season mode, not Franchise.

Fun, but cpu takes away puck way to easy constantly. I cannot keep up with it. Not sure what I can adjust.

Re: TNK NHL17 All-Star Sliders

TNK BOSTON BRUINS FRANCHISE
Game #5 of The Season

Montreal Canadiens (2-0-2) @ Boston Bruins (3-0-1)

It's an original six battle between arch rivals as Boston Bruins play host to the hated Montreal Canadiens at TD Garden. The backup goalies will be in the nets tonight as the Canadiens are without superstar goalie Carey Price who is out for a month with a lower body injury. Al Montoya will be in net for Montreal and Boston will start Anton Khudobin to give Tuukka Rask a night off

1st PERIOD
The Bruins and Canadiens both came out with good energy and physical play early on and Montreal would get the first powerplay of the night when Liles was called for holding. The Canadiens would open the scoring near the end of the powerplay when Galchenyuk found Max Pacioretty in the high slot and his wrist shot beat Khudobin to give Montreal a 1-0 lead with 11:40 to play in the period. Montreal carried the play for much of the period and Zdeno Chara was called for tripping with 0:12 left in the period putting Montreal on the powerplay as the period would come to an end with the Canadiens up 1-0 and out-shooting the Bruins 17-9

2nd PERIOD
The Bruins needed to come out with a better effort in the 2nd period but would begin the period shorthanded with 1:48 left on the penalty to Chara. The Boston PK unit did a good job to kill it off and return to even strength as the Bruins look to get something going offensively. Boston killed off another Montreal powerplay midway through the period and started to build some momentum and get some sustained pressure in the offensive zone which led to their first powerplay of the night when Galchenyuk was called for hooking. The Bruins cashed in on their PP opportunity as they set up in the zone and moved the puck nicely before David Pastrnak swung out from behind the net and was stopped by Montoya but Patrice Bergeron was able to collect the rebound and stuff it home to tie the score at 1-1 with 5:24 to play in the period. The game wasn't tied for long though as Montreal went on their 5th powerplay of the game and Alexander Radulov scored on a rebound off a shot from Plekanec to put the Canadiens back on top by a score of 2-1 with 2:42 left in the period. The Bruins had some good pressure in the closing seconds of the period but Montoya came up with big saves on shots by Bergeron and Marchand and the period would end with Montreal leading 2-1 and holding a 33-24 edge in shots.

3rd PERIOD
The Bruins would enter the 3rd period trailing 2-1 but would get a powerplay chance just 1:10 in to the period when Plekanec was whistled for hooking. Boston had some good looks on the man advantage but were unable to capitalize and the score would remain 2-1. Boston would even the score near the midway point of the period when they broke out of the defensive zone cleanly and Brad Marchand would cross the Montreal blue line with speed, cut towards the middle using the defender as a screen and ripped a perfect snap shot top corner for a beautiful goal to tie the game at 2-2 with 12:39 remaining in regulation. The Canadiens answered back 59 seconds later on a perfectly executed play off an offensive zone draw when David Desharnais tied up Riley Nash on the drop and Chris Terry skated in to collect the puck and beat Khudobin with a wrist shot to give Montreal a 3-2 lead with 11:40 to play. The Bruins went on the powerplay with 9:25 remaining when Jacob De La Rose was called for interference and it would become a 5 on 3 when Danault cleared the puck over the glass with 7:59 to play giving Boston a huge opportunity to tie the game. Boston had a number of chances on the powerplay but Montoya made several big saves to protect the lead and had some luck as David Backes rang a shot off post as the Canadiens would kill it off and get back to even strength. The Bruins continued to apply pressure as the clock ticked under 5:00 to play but could not get the puck past Montoya and Boston would use their timeout with 1:03 remaining on a face off in their own end. The Bruins would get Khudobin to the bench for the extra attacker but Montreal would get the puck out of their end in the closing seconds and Radulov would pot an empty netter with 0:02 left for his 2nd goal of the night and the Canadiens would win 4-2

* The Bruins suffer their first regulation loss of the season as they lose to the Canadiens by a score of 4-2. The Canadiens controlled the first two periods of play but the Bruins dominated the 3rd period out-shooting the Canadiens 18-6 in the final 20 minutes but it wasn't enough as Montreal would hang on for the victory

* Al Montoya was excellent in the Montreal net as the Canadiens are without their star goalie Carey Price who is out for 4 weeks with an injury. Montoya stopped 40 of 42 shots and was under siege for much of the 3rd period

* Anton Khudobin got the start in net for Boston as Tuukka Rask was given a night off and Khudobin stopped 35 of 38 shots faced in the defeat

* Alexander Radulov scored 2 goals to lead the way for Montreal

* Brad Marchand continues his hot start to the season as he scored his 4th goal in 5 games for Boston and Patrice Bergeron scored his 2nd goal

* David Pastrnak was injured late in the 3rd period and will be out for a week or two with an abdominal strain.

* Austin Czarnik will be inserted into the lineup and make his NHL debut in the Bruins next game to fill in for Pastrnak

* The Bruins will have a couple days off and will remain at home for their next game as the Minnesota Wild come to town with a record of 5-1-0 for what should be a tough test for the Bruins

TNK BOSTON BRUINS FRANCHISE
Game #6 of The Season

Minnesota Wild (5-1-0) @ Boston Bruins (3-1-1)

1st PERIOD
The game had a quick pace to it right from the opening face off as the Bruins and Wild both seemed to have their skating legs early on. The Bruins were getting the better chances and had a pair of back to back powerplay opportunities in the middle stages of the period but were unable to convert as Devan Dubnyk was sharp in the Minnesota net. Dominic Moore was whistled for interference with 11 seconds left in the period and the teams would go to the locker rooms for the first intermission with the score tied 0-0 and Boston out-shooting Minnesota by a 15-7 margin as the Bruins have to be happy with their effort in the 1st period despite there being no score.

2nd PERIOD
The Wild would begin the 2nd period with 1:49 of PP time carrying over on the penalty to Moore but the Bruins PK unit came up with a big kill. The Bruins were on a PP of their own near the midway point of the period when Mike Reilly was called for tripping and then Matthew Dumba was called for hooking to give Boston a 5 on 3 advantage. The Bruins needed just 5 seconds to make the Wild pay as Backes won the draw back to Colin Miller who faked a slap shot and fired a bullet pass to Brad Marchand for a one time on the far side and the puck broke through Dubnyk for a goal to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead. The Bruins would still have 1:55 of PP time remaining on the Dumba penalty but the Wild would kill it off. Minnesota would get on the board a few minutes later as Eric Staal would finish off a perfectly executed tick tack toe play from Spurgeon and Granlund to tie the score at 1-1 with 6:29 left in the period. The score would remain tied at 1-1 late into the period and the Wild would find themselves short handed with 0:52 left in the period and down a man when Marco Scandella was given a 5 minute boarding major and a game misconduct for hitting Colin Miller from behind. The Bruins would have a chance to do some damage on the 5 minute powerplay and they struck quickly as they set up in the offensive zone and Dubnyk would make the initial save on a wrist shot from Austin Czarnik but Ryan Spooner was stationed at the post and banged the puck home for a PP goal to give Boston a 2-1 lead with 0:16 left in the period. The period would come to a close with Boston leading 2-1 and holding a 30-13 edge in shots.

3rd PERIOD
The Bruins would begin the 3rd period with a 2-1 lead and 4:08 of PP time left on the major penalty to Scandella as they look to increase their lead. The Wild were able to survive the remaining time on the penalty kill and keep it a 2-1 game as they returned to even strength. Minnesota would get a powerplay of their own with 15:02 to play when Adam McQuaid was called for tripping and they would score quickly as Jonas Brodin would rip a slap shot from the point that went in on a double deflection off a Bruins defender and then off the leg of Charlie Coyle who was credited with the goal to tie the score at 2-2 with 14:50 remaining. The game was not tied for long though as Riley Nash hustled to pinch off Zach Parise along the boards on a breakout attempt by Minnesota and caused Parise to cough up the puck at their blue line. Jimmy Hayes was there to collect the loose puck with speed and he used his size to protect the puck as he powered his way to the net and beat Dubnyk with a backhand to give the Bruins a 3-2 lead with 11:40 to play. The Bruins continued to control the play and dominate the zone time as we moved towards the 5:00 mark and Boston would get a big insurance goal from their 4th line as they came through the neutral zone with speed and Tim Schaller looked to be heading behind the net when he tucked a nice pass back into the slot to a streaking Dominic Moore who fired the puck past Dubnyk for a goal to increase the Bruins lead to 4-2 with 4:19 remaining. Moore would score again a couple minutes later when he intercepted a pass in the neutral zone and raced in on a breakaway beating Dubnyk for his 2nd goal of the night to put this one away and give the Bruins a 5-2 victory

* The Bruins bounce back nicely after the loss to Montreal by dominating all 3 periods as they beat the Minnesota Wild by a score of 5-2

* The Bruins controlled the play for the entire game and out shot Minnesota 48-17 as the Wild struggled to get much offensive zone time other than short spurts.

* Dominic Moore scored a pair of goals for Boston for his 1st & 2nd goals of the season

* Brad Marchand scored his 5th goal of the season and now has 5 goals in 6 games to start the season

* Tuukka Rask allowed 2 goals on 17 shots and barely broke a sweat in this game

* Bruins defenseman Colin Miller was banged up when he was boarded by Marco Scandella and will be held out of the lineup for a couple days. Joe Morrow will be inserted into the lineup taking the place of Miller on D

* The Bruins go 1-1-1 on their 3 game home stand and will now begin a 4 game road trip as they are right back in action tomorrow night as they travel to New York to face the Rangers at Madison Square Garden. The Rangers are off to a rough start as they are currently 1-4-1 on the season

TNK BOSTON BRUINS FRANCHISE
Game #7 of The Season

Boston Bruins (4-1-1) @ New York Rangers (1-4-1)

1st PERIOD
The Bruins jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead just 0:59 in when red hot Brad Marchand snapped home a rebound after Lundqvist stopped a point shot from Branon Carlo for his 6th goal of the season. Boston increased their lead midway through the period when Ryan Spooner redirected a point shot from Carlo past Lundqvist to make it 2-0. The Rangers answered back less than a minute after the Spooner goal as Derek Stepan tipped a shot from Marc Staal that trickled through the legs of Rask to cut the Boston lead to 2-1 with 8:43 to play in the period. The momentum had started to shift as the Rangers would go on the powerplay a few minutes later and New York would set up in the offensive zone and tie the game up when Stepan fired a pass to Mats Zucccarello who scored on a one timer to even the score at 2-2 with 5:26 left in the period. The 1st period would draw to a close with the score tied 2-2 and Boston out shooting New York 13-7

2nd PERIOD
The Rangers came out flying to begin the 2nd period and were buzzing the Bruins net but Rask came up with a couple big saves on Vesey and Nash in the early going to keep the score tied. Boston would break the tie with 13:07 left in the period when Lundqvist stopped a shot by Krug but Tim Schaller was camped in front of the net and knocked home the rebound to give the Bruins a 3-2 lead. New York had a chance on the powerplay midway through the period but the Bruins got some solid work from their PK unit to kill it off and the score would remain 3-2. The Rangers caught the Bruins in a line change near the end of the period and Michael Grabner would finish off a nice play on the rush beating Rask on the backhand to tie the score at 3-3 with 1:46 remaining in the period. The period would come to an end with the score tied at 3-3 after 40 minutes of play and Boston holding a 22-14 edge in shots

3rd PERIOD
The stage was set for what should be an exciting final 20 minutes as the teams would enter the 3rd period tied at 3-3. Noel Acciari was whistled for holding with 15:53 to play putting New York on the powerplay with a chance to take the lead. Boston got a big kill from their PK unit and the score remained tied at 3-3 as the clock ticked towards the half way mark of the 3rd period. The intensity was ramping up as we moved under 10:00 to play in regulation. Both goalies made huge stops to keep the score tied as Lundqvist denied Bergeron on a breakaway with about 8:00 to play and Rask went post to post to rob Chris Kreider with just over 5:00 remaining. The Rangers would get a golden opportunity to break the tie when Spooner was called for slashing to put New York on the powerplay with 4:08 remaining. The Rangers had a couple good looks on the man advantage but Rask made the saves in the Boston net and the PK unit came up with another big kill to keep the score tied 3-3. The Bruins were pinned in their own end as the clock moved under 1:00 to play in regulation as the Rangers were possessing the puck and applying heavy pressure. The Rangers thought they scored the game winner with 0:08 left when Derek Stepan came off the wall and beat Rask with a rocket top corner but the goal was waived off by the referee because Mika Zibanejad made contact with Rask. The period would end with the score tied 3-3 and the game would head to overtime

OVERTIME
Brad Marchand was tripped by Stepan just 21 seconds into the OT to put the Bruins on a 4 on 3 powerplay. The Bruins were unable to convert on the PP and we would play on tied at 3-3. The overtime period was in the final minute and Mike Zibanejad would come through the neutral zone 1 on 1 against Liles with both teams getting fresh legs on the ice and Zibanejad crossed the blue line and made a nice deke to get an angle on Liles as he cut towards the middle and unleashed a rocket that beat Rask for the game winner with 0:45 left in OT to give the Rangers a 4-3 victory and send Madison Square Garden into a frenzy

* The Bruins lose the opener of this 4 game road trip as they fall to the Rangers 4-3 in OT

* This was an outstanding game that saw the Rangers come from behind twice to tie the game and Mike Ziabnejad blew a slap shot past Rask in OT for the game winner

* Brad Marchand continued his hot start to the season as he scored his 6th goal in 7 games

* Tuukka Rask did not have his best game as he allowed 4 goals on 27 shots in the Boston net

* Henrik Lundqvist stopped 33 of 36 shots in a solid effort in net for New York

* The Bruins will travel to Detroit for their next game to face the Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena. Boston will get Colin Miller back in the lineup against the Red Wings who are currently 3-5-0 on the season and will be looking to get on track after a shaky start to the season
