AI Learning and CPU Strat Adjustment

I'm a position lock player. I was using Fiddy's slider set. And for some reason, I would not win a game. They would score 3 goals before I knew it!

I remember last year everyone saying the CPU strat slider was the culprit for the amazing CPU playing. So I lowered that to 2 for the CPU and the AI Learning to 0.

Played a game as Pitts against Toronto. What a world of difference this game felt! I won 4-1.

Shots: Pitt 26 Tor 21
Passing %: Pitt 78% Tor 73.9% (this was a huge stat because previously, the CPU % would be in the mid 80's)

Now, I'll definitely have to play another game (reverse the teams). But this just felt "right". Pitt played as Pitt. Tor couldn't score on breakaways or those amazing cross crease passes.

Maybe I'm putting a tin foil hat on my head, but I do believe those two sliders have something to do with the uncanny goal scoring and passing % of the CPU. Has anyone else tried this?

Heck, maybe the "behind the scenes" of the AI learning is really to just slow your guys down so the CPU can catch up, and the Strat slider is more like a DIFF slider. Who knows...

Re: AI Learning and CPU Strat Adjustment

its different in goalie mode, if I have AI Learning: 4 and CPU Strategy Adjustment: 2, AI CPU is still doing sick snipes and comeback logic, it might work for player mode, but it doesn't work for goalie mode, am personally having hard time.

Re: AI Learning and CPU Strat Adjustment

I ran another game. But this time I was TOR playing against PITT. Sure enough, PITT was dominating by the end of the 2nd with a score of 3-1.

Somehow I was able to tie it, but PITT won in OT. Looking at the stats, PITT dominated in TOA by about 2 mins. I outshot them by 5 because of the pressure I applied to score.

Overall, PITT was fast. I also didn't feel like they were scoring cheap goals.

So who knows...maybe the AI Learning and CPU strat are the keys to removing that "cheat" feeling...

Re: AI Learning and CPU Strat Adjustment

I did. It does play better. I still suck. I am tweaking my sliders to play coach mode. I combined tnk and cyclonic.
