TNK - BRUINS FRANCHISE

Game #10 of Season - Boston Bruins (5-2-2) @ Columbus Blue Jackets (7-3-1)

The Bruins are in Columbus for a tough road contest at Nationwide Arena against the Blue Jackets who are off to a great start as they currently lead the Metropolitan Division with a record of 7-3-1. The Bruins were unable to score on an early PP try despite some good puck movement and quality looks as Bobrovsky was sharp in the early going. Boston would get on the board first as the 4th line continued their strong play early in the season when Tim Schaller outworked his man down low and found Riley Nash in front for the tap in goal to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead with 13:25 to play in the period. Columbus would tie the score with 7:41 left in the period when Pierre-Luc Dubois put home a rebound after Rask stopped the initial shot from Harrington and we had ourselves a 1-1 game. The Blue Jackets would start to take over late in the period but Rask came up with some tough stops to keep the score tied 1-1 as the period would end with Boston out-shooting Columbus 14-11 through 20 minutes

The Bruins had the better chances and controlled the play for much of the 2nd period but there was no scoring in the period as Bobrovsky was stellar in the 2nd period and Columbus would manage just 4 shots in the period as the teams would go to 2nd intermission tied 1-1 with Boston holding a 27-15 edge in shots

The 3rd period would begin with the score even at 1-1 and the stage set for what should be an exciting final 20 minutes of action. The Blue Jackets would go on the powerplay with 14:14 remaining after David Krejci was called for a slash but they couldn't cash in thanks to some strong work by the Boston PK unit. The Bruins continued to control the play and get the better chances as Columbus was somehow finding a way to keep this game tied with the clock moving under 9:00 to play. The Blue Jackets would catch the Bruins in a line change with under 5:00 to play to start an odd man rush up ice 2 on 1 and Foligno would dish to Lukas Sedlak who was denied by Rask with a pad stop but Sedlak was able to fend off Kevan Miller and scored on his own rebound to snap the tie and put Columbus up 2-1 with 4:10 remaining. The Bruins hopes of a comeback were made tougher when Patrice Bergeron was called for tripping with 2:54 to play. The Bruins would kill it off and get the extra attacker on ice in the final minute but could not get the equalizer despite heavy pressure in the closing seconds as the Blue Jackets hand the Bruins a 2-1 defeat

* Tough loss for the Bruins as they fall 2-1 to the Blue Jackets on a late goal by Lukas Sedlak

* The Bruins deserved a better fate as they played a very solid road game against a Columbus team that is now 8-3-1 on the season and dominated the game at times out-shooting Columbus 42-26

* Sergei Bobrovsky was outstanding for Columbus registering 41 saves on 42 shots as he pretty much stole this game for his team

* The Bruins continue to get great contributions from their 4th line of Schaller-Kuraly-Nash as Schaller set up Riley Nash for the lone Bruins goal in this game

* Tuukka Rask played well in net for Boston stopping 24 of 26 shots

* The Bruins will return home for their next 3 games as they will next face the Vegas Golden Knights who will make their first ever visit to TD Garden

TNK - BRUINS FRANCHISE

Game #11 of Season - Vegas Golden Knights (2-5-4) @ Boston Bruins (5-3-2)

The Vegas Golden Knights make their first ever visit to TD Garden to face the Bruins who are coming off a tough loss in Columbus in their last game. The Bruins opened the scoring 4:59 in to the game on the powerplay as Chara went back to gather the puck after Vegas had cleared it down the ice and Chara hit David Pastrnak flying through the neutral zone and he went inside out on Merrill and snapped a laser past Fleury to give Boston a 1-0 lead. Vegas had a stretch late in the period where strung together some shifts where they out worked the Bruins and it led to a couple powerplay opportunities. The Bruins penalty killers did a good job and Rask made some tough stops to keep it a 1-0 game until Charlie McAvoy made a great play to curl away from his man and slide a pass to Chara who unleashed a one timer that Fleury stopped but the rebound went right to David Krejci who went to his backhand and roofed the puck over Fleury for a SH goal to make it 2-0 with 0:33 left in the period. The Bruins would go to the intermission leading 2-0 and out-shooting the Golden Knights 13-10.

The Golden Knights went on the powerplay again early in the 2nd period which turned into a 5 on 3 after Marchand was called for tripping and they would get on the board when William Karlsson put home a rebound after Rask made the initial stop on Perron making it a 2-1 game with 17:36 to play in the period. Vegas remained on the PP and would tie the game as Jon Merrill beat Rask with a slap shot through a screen to tie the score at 2-2 with 15:55 to play in the period. The Bruins answered right back less than two minutes later on a great individual effort by Pastrnak who made a filthy deke on a defender before kicking the puck back to his stick and getting off a shot that broke through Fleury for his 2nd goal of the night to give Boston a 3-2 lead. Boston would go on a 5 on 3 PP of their own in the middle stages of the period and David Backes would score to make it 4-2. Vegas would respond with their 3rd PP goal a few minutes later and this it was Jiri Hudler who redirected a shot past Rask to cut the Bruins lead to 4-3 with 6:53 left in the period. Boston pushed the lead back to two goals a few minutes later as Marchand flew up the wing and hit Pastrnak streaking down the far wing with a gorgeous cross ice pass and Pastrnak fired a one timer that Fleury had no chance at stopping for his 3rd goal of the night making it 5-3 with 4:00 left in what has been a wild 2nd period. The period would could come to a close with the Bruins leading 5-3

The game would go to the 3rd period with the Bruins hoping to slow things down a bit after a wide open 2nd period that saw both teams have a bunch of PP opportunities and scoring chances traded. The Golden Knights carried the play early in the 3rd period and were applying heavy pressure in the offensive zone but Rask came up with some key stops to keep it a 5-3 game. The game would move into the final 10:00 of regulation time with the Bruins content to make safe plays and Vegas trying desperately to cut into the Bruins 5-3 lead. The Bruins did a good job defensively in the closing minutes and would hold off the Golden Kinghts for a 5-3 victory

* The Bruins win 5-3 over Vegas in a very entertaining game that featured a wild back and forth 2nd period in which each team scored 3 times.

* David Pastrnak remains red hot as he scored a hat trick for Boston and has scored all 7 of his goals on the season in the last 4 games

* The Bruins played an undisciplined game as Vegas had 10 powerplay opportunities in the game and converted for 3 PP goals

* Tuukka Rask was excellent in the Boston net as he stopped 35 of 38 shots and all 3 goals allowed came while the Bruins were shorthanded

* Kevan Miller strained his groin in the game and will miss a couple games as a result. Adam McQuaid will return to the lineup after missing the past few games

* The Bruins improve to 6-3-2 and will remain at home for their next game as the Washington Capitals will come to town with a record of 6-5-2 for what should be a tough game at TD Garden

TNK - BRUINS FRANCHISE

Game #12 of Season - Washington Capitals (6-5-2) @ Boston Bruins (6-3-2)

The Bruins came out flying while the Capitals were sluggish in the 1st period which lead to Boston dominating the opening period. Sean Kuraly got the games first goal when he snapped a shot on the rush that beat Holtby five hole to give Boston a 1-0 lead. Patrice Bergeron would make it 2-0 on the PP with 6:05 remaining in the period. The Bruins would increase the lead to 3-0 in the final minute of the period when Paul Postma fired a shot from the point that changed direction on a tip by Danton Heinen who was credited with the goal and Boston would go to the 1st intermission with a commanding 3-0 lead and a 14-5 edge in shots after one period.

The Capitals looked like a different team in the 2nd period as they were much faster, crisper and more physical than they were in the 1st period. Tuukka Rask was under siege at times in the period but was outstanding in the Boston net as he made a number of difficult saves and kept the Capitals off the scoreboard despite Washington dominating the period. The teams would head to the locker rooms at the end of the 2nd period with Boston still ahead by a score of 3-0 and the shots now even at 20-20

The Bruins would begin the 3rd period with a 3-0 lead and the Capitals were in need of a huge effort in the 3rd period if they were going to salvage a point. Washington would get on the board on the powerplay with 15:49 remaining when Rask stopped a point shot from Niskanen but Lars Eller was parked in front of the net and buried the rebound to pull the Capitals within two goal at 3-1. Washington could smell blood and had the Bruins on their heels as the Capitals were swarming the Bruins zone trying to make it a one goal game but Rask continued his stellar play in net and the clock would tick under 10:00 to play. The Capitals were out-shooting the Bruins 15-5 in the period but Boston maintained their 3-1 lead with just over 4:00 to play. Washington would have a chance on the PP after Tim Schaller was called for elbowing with 3:38 remaining but they were unable cash in as Boston killed it off. The Capitals would get Holtby to the bench for the extra attacker in the final minute of play and Brad Marchand would seal it with an empty net goal and give the Bruins a 4-1 victory

* The Bruins jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the 1st period and then held off a tremendous surge by the Capitals who out-shot the Bruins 32-14 over the final two periods as Boston would hang on for a 4-1 victory

* Tuukka Rask was the difference in this game as he stood on his head in the 2nd & 3rd periods stopping 36 of 37 shots to earn the win in net

* Braden Holtby stopped 24 of 27 shots in the loss for Washington

* Boston got goals from 4 different scorers as Bergeron, Kuraly, Heinen and Marchand all scored

* The Bruins will remain at home to wrap up this 3 game home stand for their next game against the Minnesota Wild.

Game #13 of Season - Minnesota Wild (8-4-0) @ Boston Bruins (7-3-2)

The Bruins are 7-3-2 on the season and face a tough test as the Minnesota Wild come to TD Garden with a record of 8-4-0 on the season. The Bruins would have Anton Khudobin in net as Tuukka Rask gets the night off. Boston would open the scoring early in the 1st period as David Backes was able to pull the puck free from a net front scrum and whack it into the net to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead 2:48 into the game. Boston would increase their lead midway through the period when David Pastrnak picked up a loose puck in the neutral zone and went inside out on Dumba before snapping a rocket past Dubnyk to make it 2-0. Minnesota would start to get their legs late in the period and started stringing together some good shifts but the period would come to an end with Boston leading 2-0 and the shots were 10-9 in favor of Boston.

The Bruins made it 3-0 just 0:40 into the 2nd period when David Krejci won an offensive zone face off back to Torey Krug who moved to his left to create a lane and blasted a slap shot past Dubnyk for his 4th goal of the season. The Wild would get on the board a few minutes later as they had the Bruins hemmed in their own end and Jared Spurgeon would make a nice move at the blue line to walk into the high slot and his shot trickled through Khudobin to cut the Boston lead to 3-1 with 14:29 left in the period. Boston pushed the lead back to 3 midway through the period as Kuraly, Schaller and Nash worked a beautiful cycle down low with Kuraly eventually finding Nash in the slot for a one timer to make it 4-1. The 2nd period would conclude with the Bruins holding a commanding 4-1 lead after 40 minutes of play.

The Bruins were doing a good job of making safe plays and not getting caught out of position in the 3rd period as the score remained 4-1 until Frank Vatrano redirected a Charlie McAvoy shot past Dubnyk to make it a 5-1 game with 7:15 to play. The Bruins would close this one out and cruise to a 5-1 victory

* The Bruins put together one of their most complete efforts of the season as they beat the Wild by a score of 5-1 to improve to 8-3-2 on the season and drop Minnesota to a record of 8-5-0

* Frank Vatrano scored his 2nd goal of the season and added an assist to lead the offensive charge for Boston

* Anton Khudobin got the start in net for Boston to give Tuukka Rask a night off and Khudobin was solid as he stopped 28 of 29 shots in the victory

* Devan Dubnyk had a rough night in the Minnesota net as he allowed 5 goals on 33 shots in the loss

* Kevan Miller is set to return to the lineup after missing the last couple games

* The Bruins wrapped up a stretch of 7 out of their last 8 games at home and they took advantage of the favorable schedule going 5-2-1 in that span

* The Bruins will play 6 of their next 7 games on the road and will travel to New York to take on the Rangers at Madison Square Garden in their next game. The Bruins will face a Rangers team that always plays Boston tough and is currently 10-6-0 on the season

TNK - BRUINS FRANCHISE

Game #14 of Season - Boston Bruins (8-3-2) @ New York Rangers (10-6-0)

The Bruins are in New York to face the Rangers at Madison Square Garden in what should be an exciting match up between two of the better teams in the Eastern Conference to this point in the season. New York would get the games first PP opportunity when Sean Kuraly was called for a trip 4:41 in to the contest but they were unable to cash in as they had a couple quality chances that were denied by Tuukka Rask. The Bruins would go on a full two minute 5 on 3 powerplay as Rick Nash and JT Miller were each called for minor penalties with 9:54 remaining in the period giving Boston a golden opportunity to get on the board. The Rangers PK unit survived the two man advantage despite Boston moving the puck around and getting some good looks as Lundqvist looked sharp in the NY net. The Bruins would strike about a minute later though as Paul Postma scored on a slap shot from the point that Lundqvist could not pick up through a screen giving the Bruins a 1-0 lead with 6:11 to play in the 1st period. The 1st period would come to an end with Boston leading 1-0 and out-shooting the Rangers 11-6 through 20 minutes.

The Rangers came out with a fire lit under them to begin the and were on the PP when Kuraly was called for a trip to put NY on a two man advantage. The Rangers would score during the 5 on 3 as Rask stopped a shot from Nick Holden but Mika Zibanejad was camped in front of the net and whacked home the rebound to tie the score 1-1 with 14:16 to play in the period. The Rangers goal got the crowd into the game and New York started to dominate possession and generate chances but Rask kept the score tied 1-1 with a number of big stops including a great save to rob Jimmy Vesey on a breakaway as we moved into the final minutes of the period. The Bruins went on a powerplay with under 3:00 to play in the period and a blocked shot by Ryan McDonagh would bounce right to Buchnevich to create a 2 on 1 with Jimmy Vesey who beat Rask top shelf with a snap shot for a shorthanded goal to put NY up 2-1 with 1:17 remaining in the period. The period would end with the Rangers leading 2-1 and holding a 22-20 edge in shots after they dominated the 2nd period.

The Bruins would enter the 3rd period trailing 2-1 with 20 minutes to play and would get a powerplay with 14:46 remaining when McDonagh was whistled for a cross check. The Rangers would kill it off with some solid work from the PK unit and Lundqvist in goal and we would move towards the half way point of the period. Boston would tie the score with 9:19 remaining when Kevan Miller intercepted a passs as NY tried to exit the zone and slid it over to Postma who beat Lundqvist with a slap shot for his 2nd goal of the night to tie the score at 2-2 and set the stage for what should be a fantastic finish to this game. The clock ticked down to the final minutes and Rask made the save of the game going post to post to rob Chris Kreider and freeze the puck with 1:26 remaining. The save by Rask became even more critical as the Bruins won the ensuing draw and would break out as McAvoy hit Bergeron with speed through center ice and Bergeron would find David Pastrnak streaking up the far wing and Pastrnak would take the cross ice pass from Bergeron and fire a rocket off the post and in for a huge goal to give Boston a 3-2 lead with 1:05 remaining in regulation. Brad Marchand would score an empty netter with 0:22 to play to make it 4-2. The Rangers would get a goal with 0:06 to play when JT Miller picked Charlie McAvoy's pocket behind the Boston net and scored on a wrap around, but there was not enough time for the Rangers to get the equalizer as the Bruins come from behind in the 3rd period for a thrilling 4-3 victory

* The Bruins come from behind in the 3rd period for a hard fought 4-3 victory in New York over the Rangers

* Paul Postma scored a pair of goals for Boston as he beat Lundqvist twice with slap shots for his 1st two goals in a Bruins uniform

* David Pastrnak continues his hot streak as he scored the game winner with 1:05 remaining in the 3rd period and now has 9 goals in his last 7 games

* Tuukka Rask stopped 28 of 31 shots in net for Boston

* Henrik Lundqvist stopped 33 of 36 shots in net for New York

* The Bruins will travel to Toronto for their next game to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs at Air Canada Center

TNK - BRUINS FRANCHISE

Game #15 of Season - Boston Bruins (9-3-2) @ Toronto Maple Leafs (8-6-3)

The Bruins look to remain hot as they are in Toronto for an Atlantic Division battle against the Maple Leafs at Air Canada Center in the front end of a home and home series as the teams will travel to Boston after the game where they will square off again tomorrow night at TD Garden. The Maple Leafs started the game strong and were out-working the Bruins which lead to a three powerplay opportunities for Toronto but Tuukka Rask was very sharp in the early going to keep the game scoreless as Boston killed off the penalties. The Bruins started to calm things down late in the period and would go on their first PP of the game with 6:56 remaining but could not cash in. Boston went right back on the powerplay for a 2nd time when Leo Komarov was called for a trip and worked the puck around nicely as Jake DeBrusk got a good shot off that was stopped by Frederik Andersen but David Krejci was at the far post and batted the rebound out of mid-air into the net for the PP goal to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead with 3:37 remaining in the period. Danton Heinen was injured on a big open ice hit from Morgan Rielly and will not return to the game in the closing minutes as the period would come to an end with Boston leading 1-0 despite being out-shot 16-13 by Toronto.

The 2nd period was evenly played with both teams generating some quality scoring chances with Andersen and Rask each giving their team excellent work between the pipes as the shots were 29-27 in favor of Boston. The period would come to an end with no scoring and the teams would go to the locker rooms with the Bruins holding on to a 1-0 lead through 40 minutes of play.

The Maple Leafs would begin the 3rd period with 1:58 of PP time carrying over as Postma took a penalty in the closing seconds of the 2nd period. The Bruins would get a huge shorthanded goal 0:41 in to the period when Patrice Bergeron got his stick in a passing lane to and beat Zaitsev to the loose puck creating a breakaway opportunity and Bergeron would sneak the puck through the five hole on Andersen to extend the Bruins lead to 2-0. Boston would increase the lead on the PP near the midway mark of the period as Brad Marchand redirected a shot from Charlie McAvoy past Andersen to make it 3-0 with 11:24 remaining. The Bruins would make it 4-0 a few minutes later when Matt Beleskey tipped a McAvoy shot that beat Andersen on the change of direction and Toronto would make a change in goal as Calvin Pickard came on to replace Andersen. Toronto would get on the board a couple minutes after the change in goal as Connor Brown scored on a rebound after Rask kicked out a shot by Zaitsev to give the Maple Leafs life and cut the Boston lead to 4-1 with 6:42 to play. The Maple Leafs would get a goal from Nazem Kadri in the final minute to make it 4-2 and that would be the final score as the Bruins win 4-2

* The Bruins took a 1-0 lead into 3rd period in what was a very tight game before Boston scored 3 goals in the 3rd to open up a 4-0 lead on their way to a well played 4-2 road win in Toronto

* The game was played at a frantic wide open pace with both teams generating a ton of shots as Toronto out-shot Boston 47-43

* Tuukka Rask was outstanding in the Boston net turning away 45 of 47 shots and kept the Leafs off the board until surrendering 2 late goals

* Frederik Andersen stopped 34 of 38 shots and was solid before falling apart in the 3rd period and being lifted for Calvin Pickard who stopped all 5 shots he faced

* Bruins winger Danton Heinen was injured in the 1st period and did not return. Heinen will miss a couple of weeks with a broken jaw.

* The Bruins will get some reinforcements as both Anders Bjork and Austin Czarnik will be available as they return from injuries

* The teams will travel to Boston where they will square off again tomorrow in the 2nd game of this home & home set. The Maple Leafs will be motivated to avenge this loss and the Bruins should expect Toronto to come out with a strong effort

TNK - BRUINS FRANCHISE

Game #16 of Season - Toronto Maple Leafs (8-7-3) @ Boston Bruins (10-3-2)

The Bruins and Maple Leafs square off at TD Garden in the back end of a home and home on back to back nights after Boston defeated Toronto last night at Air Canada Center. The backup goalies will both get the starts tonight with Anton Khudobin set to go up against Calvin Pickard between the pipes. The Maple Leafs opened the scoring late in the 1st period when Morgan Rielly beat Khudobin with a rocket from the high slot to give Toronto a 1-0 lead. Boston would go on a 4 minute PP when Zach Hyman was called for a double minor for high sticking and the Bruins would cash in as Anders Bjork shook his man with a quick cut and set up Krejci for a beautiful goal to tie the score 1-1 with 2:58 left in the period. the period would come to a close with the score tied 1-1

There was no scoring in the 2nd period as Khudobin and Pickard were sharp in their respective nets as the score remained tied 1-1 with Boston holding a 22-18 edge in shots after 40 minutes of action.

The Bruins thought they scored a go ahead goal early in the 3rd but it was ruled that Austin Czarnik kicked the puck in the net and waived off. The Bruins were dominating play but it was the Maple Leafs who would break the tie midway through the period when former Bruins Dominic Moore scored on a wrist shot to put Toronto ahead 2-1 with 12:12 remaining. The game would move into the final minutes with Toronto hanging on to a 2-1 lead with Boston pushing hard to try and get the equalizer. The Bruins had a great opportunity with under 2:00 to play but Pickard flashed the pad to rob Pastrnak who took a feed from Krejci and fired a quick shot. The Maple Leafs came back the other way on an odd man rush and Patrick Marleau would snap a shot over the shoulder of Khudobin for a back breaking goal to put Toronto up 3-1 with 1:22 remaining. Boston would get Khudobin to the bench for the extra man but Toronto would hang on for a big 3-1 victory over the Bruins

* The Bruins fall to the Maple Leafs 3-1 as Toronto put together a great effort on the road to earn a split of this back to back home and home series

* Calvin Pickard stopped 36 of 37 shots in a clutch effort from the Toronto backup as he was the #1 star of the game

* Anton Khudobin stopped 25 of 28 shots in the Boston net as Rask was given the night off

* Dominic Moore scored the game winner for Toronto against his former team as he was a member of the Bruins last season

* David Krejci scored the lone Boston goal, his 5th of the season

* The Bruins will head west to begin a tough 4 game road trip with 3 stops in California against the Ducks, Kings and Sharks before wrapping up the trip back east against the Devils. The Bruins will face the Ducks at Honda center in Anaheim in their next game to begin the road trip

TNK - BRUINS FRANCHISE

Game #17 of Season - Boston Bruins (10-4-2) @ Anaheim Ducks (9-5-3)

The Bruins are on the west coast to start a 4 game road trip with a 3 game swing through California beginning with a trip to Anaheim to face the Ducks at Honda Center in what should be a great game between two teams who have been playing great hockey as Boston comes in with a 10-4-2 record and the Ducks are 9-5-3 on the season. The Ducks jumped out to a quick lead when Paul Postma coughed the puck up giving Ryan Kesler a breakaway bid and Kesler beat Rask with a nice deke to the backhand to give Anaheim a 1-0 lead just 2:43 in to the game. The Ducks scored again on a beautiful set up from Kesler to Antoine Vermette to make it 2-0 with 12:28 to play in the period as Anaheim was all over the Bruins early. Boston would start to find their game midway through the period and would have a chance to get back in this game when Rickard Rakell was given a 4 minute double minor for high sticking with 5:26 to play in the period. The Bruins had some great pressure on the extended PP and it looked like the Ducks were going to survive but Boston would get on the board with 13 seconds left on the PP when Marchand spun away from his man and gave the puck to Pastrnak who fired a laser from the high slot that beat Gibson bar down to make it a 2-1 game with 1:39 left in the period. The 1st period would end with the Ducks taking a 2-1 lead to the locker room despite being out-shot 14-7 by Boston

The Ducks pushed their lead back to two goals early in the 2nd period when Andrew Cogliano tipped a shot from Cam Fowler that beat Rask on the deflection to make it a 3-1 game with 15:11 to play in the period. The Bruins would catch a break midway through the period as Austin Czarnik threw a shot towards the net that took a funny bounce off the leg of a Ducks player and the puck would then bounce off the chest of Matt Beleskey who was rewarded for crashing the net as the puck went in for a goal to cut the Ducks lead to 3-2 with 8:22 remaining in the period. Tuukka Rask kept the Bruins in the game with a couple of huge saves late in the period as he stoned Rakell on a breakaway and then absolutely robbed Nick Ritchie with a sprawling pad save on an odd man rush to keep the Bruins within a goal as the period came to an end with Anaheim leading 3-2 and the shots even at 23-23

The Bruins would begin the 3rd period trailing 3-2 and had a couple early chances that were denied on good saves by Gibson. Boston would get a PP opportunity with 12:16 left and Getzlaf in the box for hooking but the Ducks PK unit would kill it off. The score remained 3-2 as we moved into the late stages of the 3rd period and Boston would get another shot to try and tie it up when Ondrej Kase was called for tripping to put the Bruins on the PP with 5:34 remaining. The Bruins had a couple quality looks on the man advantage but Gibson make the saves and the Ducks would kill it off to maintain their 3-2 lead as we moved into the final minutes. Kevin Bieksa was sent to the box for a hook with 2:14 to put Boston back on the PP and the Ducks were hoping they have one more huge penalty kill in them as they try to hang on. The Bruins would use their timeout and get Rask to the bench with 1:30 remaining to give themselves a 6 against 4 advantage with their top PP unit fully rested and on the ice as they desperately try to get the equalizer. The Ducks would clear the puck with 0:45 to play and the Bruins would rush up ice and set up in the offensive zone with the clock ticking down to 0:30 to play. The Bruins would work the puck around and Pastrnak would pass to Bergeron who one touched it over to Marchand who snapped a shot that broke through Gibson and over the line for a huge game tying goal with 0:21 remaining as the Bruins battle back to tie the score 3-3 in the closing seconds and send the game to overtime.

The teams were skating 3 on 3 in overtime and the Ducks would get the game winner in the final minute of OT when Nick Ritchie won a puck battle along the boards and fed Ryan Kesler who snapped a shot from the slot that beat Rask upstairs to give the Ducks a thrilling 4-3 win

* The Bruins came from behind to tie the game 3-3 with 0:21 remaining in regulation but would fall to the Ducks 4-3 in OT as Ryan Kesler scored his 2nd goal of the game to net the game winner in a very exciting game that had a playoff feel to it

* Ryan Kesler scored a pair of goals for Anaheim and netted the OT game winner with 0:41 seconds remaining. Kesler has been outstanding for Anaheim and is among the league leaders with 14 goals on the season

* David Pastrnak scored his team leading 10th goal for Boston

* John Gibson played great in net for Anaheim stopping 37 of 40 shots in the win

* Tuukka Rask stopped 31 of 35 shots in the loss for Boston

* The Bruins are 0-1-1 in their last two games and will be right back in action tomorrow night as they visit the Los Angeles Kings at Staples Center in what should be another tough challenge
