Re: TNK NHL22 Sliders

TNK - Boston Bruins Franchise

Regular Season - Game #11
Edmonton Oilers (7-3-1) @ Boston Bruins (8-1-1)

The Bruins welcome Connor McDavid and the Pacific Division leading Edmonton Oilers to TD Garden for a matchup between two of the top teams early in the season

1st Period - The Bruins and Oilers traded early PP opportunities and Boston had the better chances in the period, but Smith and Swayman were both sharp in their nets and the 1st period would come to an end with the score tied 0-0. The shots were 15-9 in favor of Boston after 20 minutes of play.

2nd Period - Swayman and Smith both made outstanding saves to keep the score 0-0 early in the 2nd period but Edmonton would open the scoring after a flurry when Kyle Turris gathered the puck and lifted it past Swayman to give the Oilers a 1-0 lead with 14:17 left in the period. The Bruins survived a surge by the Oilers thanks to some clutch stops by Swayman and Boston had some good pressure leading to a PP when Hyman was called for holding with 7:50 left. The Bruins failed to convert on the PP and the score remained 1-0 into the late stages of the 2nd period. Smith and Swayman continued to make big stops in their nets and the 2nd period came to an end with the Oilers leading 1-0 despite being out-shot 25-20 through 40 minutes

3rd Period - The Bruins entered the 3rd period trailing 1-0 and looking for a big effort in the final 20 minutes. The Bruins were creating scoring chances but Mike Smith continued to turn aside everything the Bruins threw at him and Edmonton maintained their 1-0 lead as the clock ticked under 10:00 to play in regulation. Boston would go on the PP with Darnell Nurse going to the box for holding with 9:19 to play but the PK unit for Edmonton did a great job to kill it off and the Oilers returned to even strength with 7:19 remaining and their 1-0 lead still intact. Smith would freeze the puck setting up an offensive zone faceoff for Boston and the 4th line would get the job done as Tomas Nosek gathered the puck after Mike Reilly sailed a point shot over the net and Nosek would swing out front and find Curtis Lazar for the game tying goal to even the score at 1-1 with 6:53 to play. The stage was set for an exciting finish to what has been a great game and the Oilers would get a huge PP opportunity when Bergeron was called for slashing with 4:39 remaining. Edmonton set up with the man advantage and worked the puck around to create some good looks but Swayman would come up with clutch saves to deny McDavid and Nugent-Hopkins as the Bruins kill off the penalty and get back to even strength with 2:39 left. The Bruins and Oilers played strong defense in the final two minutes and the 3rd period came to an end with the score tied 1-1 sending the game to overtime

Overtime - The teams would skate 3 on 3 to begin OT and both teams had chances to score as Smith denied Marchand on a breakaway while McDavid raced in all alone the other way but Swayman made a huge stop to keep it tied 1-1 and time would run out with the score still tied 1-1 as the game would head to a shootout. The shootout was tied at 1 after 3 rounds before Hyman scored for Edmonton in round #8 but Grzelcyk would answer for the Bruins to keep the shootout going. Sceviour and Clifton would trade goals in round #12 and then Swayman would stop Russell in round #15 and Derek Forbort came in and faked a slap shot before tucking the puck past Smith to give Boston a 2-1 shootout victory

NOTES

* The Bruins improve to 9-1-1 while the Oilers fall to 7-3-2 on the season

* Jeremy Swayman was excellent in net for Boston stopping 30 of 31 shots

Re: TNK NHL22 Sliders

TNK - Boston Bruins Franchise

Regular Season - Game #12
Boston Bruins (9-1-1) @ New Jersey Devils (6-4-2)

1st Period - The Devils had some quality scoring chances on a pair of early powerplays but could not get the puck past Ullmark and the game remained scoreless until late in the period when McAvoy played the puck down low to Jake Debrusk who made a nice move to get away from Severson and snapped a shot past Bernier to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead with 5:35 left in the period. The 1st period came to an end with the Bruins leading 1-0 and holding an 11-6 edge in shots

2nd Period - The Devils were controlling play which led to a couple PP opportunities and Boston had just finished killing off a New Jersey PP when Coyle lost possession behind his own net and the puck bounced out to Tomas Tatar who beat Ullmark with a quick shot glove side to tie the game 1-1 with 8:04 left in the period. The Bruins would answer a couple minutes later when Mike Reilly walked in from the point and beat Bernier with a shot to give Boston a 2-1 lead with 6:29 remaining in the period. The Devils were all over the Bruins in the final 5:00 of the period but Ullmark came up with a number of big saves and the Bruins would take a 2-1 lead into the 2nd intermission despite being out-shot 20-15 by the Devils.

3rd Period - The Devils came out with good pressure to begin the 3rd period and Frederic would go to the box for holding to put New Jersey on the PP with 11:38 to play. Boston would kill off the penalty and return to even strength with under 10:00 to play in regulation and holding on to a 2-1 lead. New Jersey continued to generate chances and Ullmark was forced to make a couple of timely saves as he got a pad on a slap shot from Subban and slid over to deny Bratt on the rebound keeping it a 2-1 game with just over 5:00 remaining. The Devils had a great chance with just under 2:00 to play when Subban wound up for a slap shot from the top of the circle but Brandon Carlo sacrificed the body to block the shot. The clock ticked down under 1:00 to play with Boston clinging to a 2-1 lead as Bernier got to the bench and New Jersey got the extra attacker on the ice. Pastrnak was called for slashing to put the Devils on the PP with 0:17 remaining giving New Jersey a 6 on 4 advantage for the final 17 seconds of regulation. Curtis Lazar would win the ensuing defensive zone faceoff and Derek Forbort would loft the puck down the ice and it would glide into the Devils net for a shorthanded empty net goal to give the Bruins a hard fought 3-1 victory

NOTES
* The Bruins grind out a tough 3-1 win in New Jersey despite being out-shot 27-23 by the Devils in a hard fought battle

* The Bruins improve to 10-1-1 while the Devils drop to 6-5-2 on the season

* Linus Ullmark played his best game as a Bruins stopping 26 of 27 shots and made a number of clutch saves as the Bruins were outplayed in the 2nd & 3rd periods

* Jonathan Bernier stopped 20 of 22 shots in net for New Jersey

* Jake Debrusk scored his 4th goal of the season for Boston while Mike Reilly and Derek Forbort each scored their 1st goal of the season

* The Bruins will be back in action tomorrow night as they welcome their arch rival Montreal Canadiens to TD Garden for the first meeting between the teams this season. The Canadiens have struggled out of the gate with a 6-8-2 record on the season. Jeremy Swayman will get the start in net for Boston against Carey Price for Montreal

TNK - Boston Bruins Franchise

Regular Season - Game #13
Montreal Canadiens (6-8-2) @ Boston Bruins (10-1-1)

1st Period - The Bruins controlled play in the opening minutes and Carey Price was forced to make a number of saves to keep the game scoreless. Montreal had some great chances midway through the period but Jeremy Swayman was sharp in the Boston net and made an incredible save when he got a pad on a shot from in close by Mike Hoffman but the puck trickled behind him where Josh Anderson looked like he would tap it over the goal line but Swayman spun around and got his stick there to rob Anderson on the goal line and keep the game tied 0-0. The 1st period came to an end with the score tied 0-0 and Boston holding a 13-8 edge in shots

2nd Period - The Bruins opened the scoring with 14:01 left in the 2nd period when Forbort played the puck down along the wall to Bergeron who found Brad Marchand at the far post to give Boston a 1-0 lead. The Canadiens went on a lengthy 5 on 3 PP with just over 6:00 left in the period but could not score as the Bruins PK unit did a great job and Swayman made some clutch saves. Montreal had a Tyler Toffoli goal waved off for goaltender interference late in the period and the 2nd period would end with Boston leading 1-0 and the shots were 23-17 in favor of Boston after 40 minutes of action

3rd Period - The Bruins were dominating puck possession early in the 3rd period and had a couple of excellent scoring chances but Price made a point blank save on Craig Smith in the slot and David Pastrnak rang the post with a one timer as the score remained 1-0. The clock ticked down under 10:00 to play with Boston still leading 1-0 as Montreal began to take some chances as they search for the game tying goal. Boston went on the PP with 8:08 left as Dvorak went off for interference and Price made his best save of the night when he stopped a slap shot by Pastrnak and stretched out to rob Erik Haula on the second chance keeping it a 1-0 game. The game would enter the final 5:00 of regulation and Boston would get a huge insurance goal as Craig Smith protected the puck down low behind the Montreal net and swung it across the crease to Charlie Coyle who scored to give the Bruins a 2-0 lead with 2:01 remaining. The Canadiens pulled Price with over 1:00 left for the extra attacker and Taylor Hall would put the game away with an empty net goal with 0:13 remaining and the Bruins would go on to win 3-0

NOTES
* The Bruins were leading 1-0 with under 5:00 to play in regulation before a late goal and an empty netterwin 3-0

* The Bruins improve to 11-1-1 while the Canadiens fall to 6-9-2 on the season

* Jeremy Swayman stopped all 23 shots to earn his first shutout of the season and improve to 7-0-0 with 1.54 GAA and .924 Sv% on the season

Re: TNK NHL22 Sliders

TNK - Boston Bruins Franchise

Regular Season - Game #14
Boston Bruins (11-1-1) @ Philadelphia Flyers (8-6-1)

1st Period - The play was even early in the 1st period and the Flyers opened the scoring when Derek Forbort turned the puck over in the defensive zone and Sean Couturier snapped a quick shot past Swayman for an unassisted goal to give Philadelphia a 1-0 lead with 13:33 left in the period. The Bruins began to control play but would go on the PK when Carlo was called for holding to put Philadelphia on the PP with just over 7:00 left in the period. The Bruins would kill off the penalty to Carlo and would go on a PP of their own as Konecny was called for interference with 4:40 left in the period. Boston would tie the game on the man advantage as they worked the puck around and Craig Smith would take the puck to the net where he was stopped on his initial attempt by Hart but was able to score on the second chance opportunity tying the game 1-1 with 3:46 remaining. The 1st period would end with the score tied 1-1 and the Bruins out-shooting the Flyers 12-6 after 20 minutes

2nd Period - The Bruins would catch a break early in the 2nd period when David Pastrnak would get credited with a goal after his centering feed was broken up by Hart but the puck would go off a Flyers defender and into the net giving Boston a 2-1 lead with 15:14 to play in the period. The Flyers would get a PP opportunity midway through the period when Nosek was called for tripping. The Bruins PK unit was doing a good job but Carlo would receive a double minor for as he cut Konecny open with a high stick putting Philadelphia on a 5 on 3 PP with 29 seconds remaining on the penalty to Nosek. Boston would get Nosek out of the box but the Flyers still had 3:31 of PP time to work with. Swayman would make a pair of big time stops on Hayes and Giroux before getting some help from the post as Provorov rang the iron with a slap shot from the point. Boston would survive the long penalty kill and then go right back on the PK as Nosek was called for slashing with 3:24 to play in the period. Philadelphia had a number of good looks on the PP but again came up empty as Swayman slammed the door closed with several tough saves and the 2nd period would come to an end with Boston leading 2-1 and the shots even at 18-18

3rd Period - The Bruins were dominating play in the early stages of the 3rd period but the score remained 2-1 and Boston would go to the PP with Thompson going to the box for hooking. The Bruins failed to convert on the PP but would extend the lead when Haula set up Jake Debrusk whose shot went in off the crossbar to make it a 3-1 game with 9:47 remaining. The Flyers responded to make it a one goal game a few minutes later when Ivan Provorov blasted a rocket from the point that beat Swayman through a screen to cut the Bruins lead to 3-2 with 6:56 still remaining. The Bruins 4th line answered on the ensuing shift as Anton Blidh who was seeing his first action of the season and Tomas Nosek worked the puck back and forth down low before Blidh was able to sneak a wraparound past Hart for a back breaking goal to put the Bruins up 4-2 with 6:00 left. The Bruins would put the game away with an empty net goal in the closing seconds by Taylor Hall as the Bruins

NOTES

Re: TNK NHL22 Sliders

TNK - Boston Bruins Franchise

Regular Season - Game #15
Calgary Flames (5-9-4) @ Boston Bruins (12-1-1)

1st Period - The Bruins opened the scoring 6:14 into the game when Bergeron gathered the puck after a Forbort slap shot missed high off the glass and found Marchand for the goal to give Boston a 1-0 lead. The Flames would tie the game on the PP when Backlund muscled Carlo off the puck along the boards and fired a long shot through a screen that beat Ullmark to tie the game 1-1 with 6:22 left in the period. The 1st period would end with the score tied 1-1 and the shots 8-6 in favor of Boston

2nd Period - The Bruins would retake the lead early in the 2nd period on a nice tip by Coyle who got his stick on a point shot from Grzelcyk beating Vladar on the change of direction to put Boston up 2-1 with 16:38 left. The Flames answered a few minutes later when Andersson joined the rush and made a nice feed to Lindholm for the tying goal making it 2-2 with 13:55 left in the period. Calgary went on the PP a couple minutes later and had some excellent chances but Ullmark would make a couple of big saves and Gaudreau rang the post with a shot as Boston survives the PK and the score remains tied 2-2 midway through the period. Calgary started to control play and Haula would take a hooking minor to put the Flames on their 3rd PP of the period and they would cash in as Ullmark stopped a wrist shot by Andersson but Tkachuk was there to bury the rebound giving Calgary a 3-2 lead with 3:23 left in the period. The Bruins were swarming the Calgary net in the final minutes of the period as Vladar robbed Debrusk on a nice feed from Smith but Debrusk would collect the puck in the corner and work his way back to the front where he was denied twice by Vladar before putting his 3rd chance in the back of the net for a goal on a great individual effort to tie the game 3-3 with 0:42 remaining. The 2nd period would come to an end with the score tied 3-3 and Boston holding a 24-16 edge in shots

3rd Period - The Bruins and Flames head to the 3rd period locked in a 3-3 tie with 20 minutes to decide a winner and things would get interesting just 1:19 into the period as Coyle laid out Gaudreau with a huge hit and dropped the gloves with Hanifin. Coyle was given a 5 minute major for charging and a game misconduct putting the Flames on a 5 minute PP. The Boston PK unit did a great job for 4 minutes before Nosek was called for hooking to put Calgary on a 5 on 3 PP with 55 seconds remaining on the initial penalty. The Bruins would survive as they allowed just 3 shots on net while shorthanded for over 6 minutes and returned to even strength with the score still tied 3-3 and over 12:00 to play. The clock would tick down to the final 10:00 of regulation and Zadorov was called for interference giving the Bruins a PP opportunity but they were unable to score despite some great looks and the Flames would return to even strength with 6:45 remaining setting the stage for what will be an exciting finish. The Bruins take the lead when Forbort went D to D to McAvoy along the blue line before putting a wrist shot on net and Debrusk would tip the shot out of mid-air and past Vladar to put Boston up 4-3 with 5:25 remaining. The Bruins struck again with 3:05 remaining when Bergeron slammed on the brakes and spun away from a defender before beating Vladar short side to make it 5-3. The Flames answered right back just 17 seconds later when Lindholm walked out front with the puck and beat Ullmark on the backhand to make it a one goal game cutting the Bruins lead to 5-4 with 2:48 still left to play. The Flames were unable to get Vladar to the bench for the extra attacker as Boston had the puck in the offensive zone and Marchand would score on a deflection of a McAvoy shot with 0:47 remaining and Boston wins 6-4

NOTES
* The Bruins win a wild one 6-4 over the Flames

* The Bruins stay red hot as they are 9-0-1 in their last 10 games and improve to 13-1-1 while the Flames fall to 5-10-4 on the season

Re: TNK NHL22 Sliders

TNK - Boston Bruins Franchise

Regular Season - Game #16
Boston Bruins (13-1-1) @ Buffalo Sabres (10-8-0)

The Sabres started the game with a flurry of shots in the opening minutes but Swayman came up with some big time stops to keep the game scoreless. Boston started to take control late in the 1st period and got an unassisted goal from Pastrnak who poked the puck away from Hagg in the Buffalo zone before cutting to the net front and beating Anderson to give Boston a 1-0 lead with 2:45 left in the 1st period. The Bruins dominated play for the majority of the 2nd period but the score remained 1-0. Buffalo would get a huge opportunity with a little over 3:00 left in the 2nd period as McAvoy was called for holding and Forbort took an interference penalty just 3 seconds into the PK giving the Sabres a two man advantage with 1:57 of 5 on 3 PP time to work with. Boston would get some strong work from the PK unit and Swayman made a couple of clutch saves to survive the PK and return to even strength. The Bruins would take back any momentum Buffalo had in the closing seconds of the period when Marchand knocked the puck off the stick of Dahlin at the blue line springing Bergeron for a breakaway and he would beat Anderson for a huge goal to give Boston a 2-0 lead with 0:21 left in the period. Buffalo went on an early 3rd period PP with a little over 18:00 left which turned into another 5 on 3 when Marchand was called for slashing but Buffalo would fail to cash in and the score remained 2-0 as the Bruins got back to even strength. Boston would go on the of their own seconds later but a breakdown would lead to a Buffalo goal as Swayman stopped a shot from Girgensons and Eakin was able to collect the rebound and get the puck past Swayman for a shorthanded goal to cut the Bruins lead to 2-1 with 14:40 remaining. The Sabres suddenly had momentum and were pushing for the game tying goal but the score remained 2-1 as we entered the final 10:00 of regulation. The Bruins would get a fortunate bounce as Zboril curled away from his man along the boards and passed to Reilly whose wrist shot from the point hit a Sabres defender changing direction and beating Anderson to give Boston a 3-1 lead with 6:18 left to play. The Bruins did a good job of clamping down defensively in the final minutes and Anton Blidh would add an empty net goal to finish off a 4-1 road win for Boston

TNK - Boston Bruins Franchise

Regular Season - Game #17
New York Rangers (13-6-1) @ Boston Bruins (14-1-1)

The Bruins out-shot the Rangers 14-9 in a scoreless 1st period as Shesterkin and Swayman were both solid in their nets with Swayman denying Panarin on a penalty shot midway through the period. The Bruins were given back to back PP opportunities on penalties by Nemeth and Lindgren early in the 2nd period and generated a number scoring chances but Shesterkin was standing on his head in the New York net. The Bruins would finally get the puck past Shesterkin just one second after the penalty to Lindgren expired as Hall came out from behind the Rangers net and found Jake Debrusk for a goal to give Boston a 1-0 lead with 13:52 left in the period. The Bruins controlled play throughout the 2nd period and would add a PP goal from Craig Smith who scored on a rebound with just over 1:00 left in the period to take a 2-0 lead. Boston would head to the 2nd intermission leading 2-0 and holding a 30-12 edge in shots. The Rangers came out with a quick goal 39 seconds into the 3rd period from Zibanejad who got the puck in the high slot and beat Swayman to pull New York within a goal at 2-1 with 19:21 remaining. The Rangers suddenly had momentum and were applying heavy pressure but Swayman came up with a couple big saves on Kreider and Kakko to preserve the 2-1 lead but New York would go to the PP with a chance to knot things up when Bergeron was called for holding with 10:05 remaining. Mike Reilly was called for tripping just 17 seconds later putting the Rangers on a 5 on 3 PP but New York failed to convert on the two man advantage despite some quality looks as Swayman stood tall in the Boston net and the Bruins returned to even strength with just under 8:00 left in regulation. The clock ticked down under 5:00 to play with the Rangers controlling play as they look for the equalizer with the Bruins clinging to a 2-1 lead. New York would get Shesterkin off for the extra attacker in the final minute but Boston would clamp down defensively and hang on for the 2-1 victory

NOTES
* The Bruins extend their winning streak to 8 games to improve to 11-0-1 in their last 12 games and 15-1-1 overall while the Rangers fall to 13-7-1 on the season

* Jeremy Swayman stopped 24 of 25 shots in an excellent performance in net for Boston

* Jake Debrusk scored his 8th goal of the season and added an assist while Craig Smith scored his 7th goal of the season for Boston

* The Bruins will remain at home to host the Vancouver Canucks who are currently in 5th place in the Pacific Division with a record of 9-11-1

Re: TNK NHL22 Sliders

Your last box score is wrong. It shows that you lost.

Are you getting a little sick of winning pretty much every game?
