As a Ducks fan, I'd love this, but also recognize that he probably hasn't *earned* it yet (not that it really matters...).

Would be pretty great to get a little focus on the Ducks though!

Kids are immatating him on the ice, im sure he has earned it by now. Be nice to see an Avs player, it's been far to long.

I want SuperGoalies on the Cover shaking the covert athlete's hands.

For sure. My first copy of the NHL series was 98 for CPU with Foppa on the cover. What a beauty! Had Blades of Steel for NES first, and played a lot of 94 for Sega with my neighbor, but I put a ton of time into 98.

I'm just imagining the absolute hatred '23 will get when the Michigan inevitably ends up being extremely easy to pull off, and EA ignores a bunch of other legacy issues (again)

Nathan MacKinnon seems to be the betting odds favorite right now.

Predictions for NHL 23 Cover Athlete

I know I’m an old fuddy duddy, but how about a legend on the cover. Denis Savard, Gordie Howe, Stan Makita, Rocket Richard or Patrick Roy. Be nice to have one on the cover every once in a while. Oh and can’t forget Bobby hull or Jeremy Roenick ( yeah I’m a Blackhawks fan).

They had a great opportunity to do this when Gordie Howe passed away, but it seems like EA has no desire to do it. The closest they came was when they had Gretzky on the cover of the "99 Edition" in NHL 19.
