NHL 23 Trial Available Now For EA Play Subscribers

I’m a casual NHL player, I can take the game or leave it. It’s not very immersive, I’ve never been crazy about the movement, and it’s just been relatively stale for me for a long long time.

Played a quick game and it seemed nice, nothing jumped out to me. Crowd audio was noticeably lively and the flow was solid.

Then started a be a pro goalie, which is my normal go to. More of the same for me tbh, CPU won’t shoot from anywhere but the slot. Nothing is varied in their attack. I’ll play out the trial and if the new goalie animations are plentiful (I really haven’t seen any yet) I’ll think about buying. If not I’ll happily go back to last year as I’m about three years deep with my goalie.

This is a good review and sums up many of my thoughts. I'll get it because hockey is my favorite sport, but I'll trade some games in for it.

Good review, to sum it up, he says that although NHL23 made good updates to the game, it doesn't warrant a Full price tag !!!

What strikes me, he didn't say anything about things that were removed 🤔

Man I'm really loving the new announcing. It has really made the game so much more fun to play. Madden needs to follow suit. NHL 23 really did a great job of making the arenas come alive, love the new lighting as well.

I'm really bummed they only have the presentation intros for 6 teams, makes no sense to me. Every now and then I see an American flag for my Blues but mostly it just goes into the game.

On ice there are some improvements but they really didn't spend much time on franchise mode.

What specifically do you like about it? Do they talk about specific players and teams more? Does it flow more naturally?
