Just a couple quick notes before I have to leave.

Game flows nicely on play by play setting, default camera is classic, crowd is much improved, CPU does shoot puck from the point, saw a couple of great stick deflections (no goal).

Liked what I've played so far as the CPU seems to mix up tactics which provides for more organic play.

Small sample size but I can't wait to dig into it more tonight.

For me the biggest flaw in NHL22 was the inactive and zombie DMEN on the Offence side of things… I fought tooth and nails to have a fix for this…

To all the people that tried 23, are the DMEN better ? Do they use the slapshot from the point ?

If they don't, this is a dealbreaker for me

Can someone please tell me if the CPU sets up on the power play shoots from the point and such? Can you score from the point?

Please tell me this is not a just go to the front to score like last year?

Only one game so far and interesting….played on 10 minute pro and to my surprise I only had 16 shots and cpu 15. Been a long time since I didn’t see a shot fest , which I kind of like. Didn’t have a single penalty though, but I played with no slider changes. It was tough for me to get off good shots, which was great to see. I ended up losing 2-0.

Wasn’t going to buy this year, but if games continue like this, probably will give in

Played two games on pro level, after I messed around with the sliders. Early impressions were good. Felt like the CPU was playing position much better than I remember, and not just chasing me. The sliders seemed to work a little better than last year, but small sample size.

Decent amount of penalties with the sliders up. Better cycling, on both sides. I didn’t feel like the CPU was just moving around looking to set up a cross crease chance.

Obvious disappointments were the lack of better portraits, I don’t understand why they can’t just make a generic jersey option like Madden does. And of course the silhouette is still there for guys with no pictures. Create a player and team look roughly the same at a quick glance, I think just a few more logos added. Menus are the same, editors are the same. But none of that is surprising.

For those that asked, I don’t remember seeing any CPU shots from the point, but I admittedly wasn’t looking for it, and it could be related to my defense style.

I’ll try franchises tomorrow, getting too late for this old guy on a weeknight.

Pretty good so far. But where is the presentation option that gives me full or condensed? Seems like the presentation has not had many replays and a short intro
