Quick question

I am looking to start a franchise on 22 (free through game pass - maybe lead to 23) - I am in my late forties and the skill stick is something that I may not be able to get.

Has anyone done a franchise with the 94 controls? I am thinking of giving it a shot unless drastically impacts gameplay. I know skill stick is best but am seeing if you guys think I could get away with the 94 controls.

Re: Quick question

You will be just fine honestly with whatever controls you feel comfortable with. Maybe try the hybrid controls instead at first. Gives you a feel for both.

Is scoring about the same for all?

I frequently go back and play 09 on PC. I spend about half my hockey playing time with it. Because there's a way to play with buttons for shooting. And every time I do, it's like wearing an old sweater. It's so much more natural to me than using the skill stick. I frankly don't have time to sit and learn the 500 ways to move a tiny little stick around to see different animations. I want to pass, I want to score, I want to win games. That means shooting. How many moves I can pull off in the meantime is irrelevant. Play with old controls, have fun.

Scoring the same regardless. Sure if you use 94 controls you lose the advanced ways but it don’t matter. You can even turn on auto aim and that would help with scoring as well.
