New lease of life with broadcast camera

If you are tired of the stale presentation and the feeling of groundhog day, I strongly encourage people to try the legacy broadcast camera. Granted the controls scheme will feel alien and may require some relearning, the switch of camera makes a HUGE difference to the presentation and has actually made this game very enjoyable for me. Everything looks more authentic and less arcady. Player models look different (which is a good thing) and the proportions in relations to the rink feel much more accurate. I honestly don't understand why EA do not shout about this camera more, because it improves the visual experience multi fold compared to the up / down orientation.

There are three more things I do.

1) I would suggest increasing the contrast to 70 (in the Accessibility menu). This will bring out the skate marks in the ice and will make everything look a little more authentic.

2) The game speed will feel very fast with this camera (due to the left - right orientation). I find that the game speed at 1 is most suitable for this camera.

3) I remove the ugly circles under the skaters and only leave the names. This way you can appreciate the skating motion more, especially this year with the new vision control.

Re: New lease of life with broadcast camera

Have been playing with this camera exclusively since it came out, over a decade ago. There's a small faction of us here who have extolled its virtues over the years just as you have. To those who say it's unplayable...after a while, you just anticipate where teammates will be if they're off screen, somewhat like real life. I'm an offline player only so if I happen to miss a pass or two if said teammates aren't where I think they'll be (just like rl!), it's no big deal, just part of the game.

Unfortunately, EA have managed to muck this up after they first removed true broadcast from 23 and reinstated it as TB legacy in 24. Just like last year, that camera view no longer works for created teams or defunct alumni teams, it reverts to true broadcast (minus the legacy), the long distance cam from the rafters. I've filed bug reports on EA forum and posted there (and here) for a couple years now but I'm sure on their list of community complaints it's wayyy down there.

Same here. Been using the broadcast camera since they first introduced it. But this year it plays and looks way better. I also like how it changes depending on the arena. For example in the United Center is very zoomed in whereas in the TD Garden it's more zoomed out.

Frankly, I can't understand how people still use the up / down camera. It is so old and arcady.

As a coach mode/CPUvCPU guy, this is the way to enjoy the game. It's awesome. Like others, I've always used it.

I kind of go back and forth between true broadcast and the legacy nowadays. When they removed legacy, I absolutely hated the zoomed out true broadcast cam, but for some arenas, I like it a bit more. It's grown on me. E.g. Florida's legacy cam just seems a bit too zoomed in to me.

What are you game speed / acceleration / skater speed settings?

I agree with everyone. One change I would recommend to make the controls easier is in Controller Settings change the control scheme to Always Up.

I like seeing the Puck Carrier Agility higher on slider set ups. Don't see many up that, good stuff.

I feel like in all sports games we don't have enough control over players agility. I started recently last year or so just maxing out the agility or puck carrier and skating agility in general and the game just "smoothed" out for me when other things didn't drive me nuts to just shut it off.
