You know if we got some AI updates with every patch that would be fantastic. For the multiple issues I have with this game the biggest one still is the D-Men leading the rush for no reason when it makes no sense and them in deep behind the net in the o-zone cycling and camped in front for deflections. The rotations are just off and needs addressed even after all these months later. They are aware of it 100%, but somehow still not touched.

The patch was 5.10gb, seems large for not much of an update above, no?

They added some real goalie masks in the “Made on IPad” section. Most are from earlier this year, but the following have actual masks now.

Also added some new equipment as well. I wish they would highlight this stuff instead of us having to find out about it from searching in game. At least the masks showed up as a news item in the main screen on loading. They don’t realize how much interest this kind of stuff draws from people who see their favorite goalie/players getting accurate gear, especially goalie masks.

Thanks for sharing that info. That explains the 5gb patch then!

They should to a custom on the iPad goalie mask for all 32 teams, would be a cool update and another option for each team. Good stuff for those goalies getting added though.

The Made on iPad was a theme done by Apple and the NHL with some goalies’ artists. Has nothing to do with EA other than them working with the NHL and the other parties to get them in the game . It would be nice if they got more in game (maybe they are working on that with those artists). They did back in NHL 97 so it’s cool to see them bringing something similar back even if it’s only for a few.

I didn’t check the previous major update so I was curious if they were already in or not. Great to see more equipment added, especially the goalie pads and gloves since the new equipment is using a custom model compared to the old equipment just being a texture. Hopefully we get updated models for the old ones next year too, similar to how they updated the helmets this year to all have updated models.

Yea I wish they would highlight when these come out so we know. But they still need to add more that players are currently wearing. Hell they can't even place the correct equipment on players now. CHL players mainly wear CCM but have them 99% in Bauer.

Just played a few offline games and can definitely see that it’s a little harder to clear the zone as the CPU seems to pressure you better. I also noticed that the CPU is making some quicker decisions in the offensive zone so it hasn’t been as easy to poke the puck away and go the other way. So far really liking the update but I’ll need a few more games to make sure it’s actually a full change or just confirmation bias from a small sample size.

The fact that they added in 6 or 7 real/authentic goalie masks is a MAJOR enhancement

Hoping that they build off of this and continue adding in more real masks and that maybe next year all the goalies or at least the majority of the #1 goalies have their real masks....that would be a massive improvement

The other thing I keep posting about and hope they add in is the ability to simply change the color of the goalie cage, just taking a mask that doesn't look great and being able to change the cage to white or chrome can take a mask that is just OK and make it look much better

Since they are addressing goalie masks… PLEASE add 70’s fiberglass masks for all the classic roster users.

I think even aside from the cage, the ability to edit the base color on the mask would be great. Did an expansion franchise for a season, and was already set before I realized that finding a mask that came close to my base jersey color was nearly impossible.
