Manual passing broken in NHL 15

Has anyone else noticed that manual passing doesn't work? There's no manual passing at all in NHL 15. Every pass has the same power and direction is set by CPU, there's no feeling that I am controlling where my passes go and that makes gameplay very arcadey.

Hope EA can fix this!!

That's not the case. I have tried simulation and hardcore and nothing changes. This problem is in the demo and the early access so it's been fixed in full version?

Nope. Its back to NHL08 passing style. Where you can't almost use the board and the you have very little control over the pass speed. Its absolutely terrible

thats untrue.

i have been able to hold down and fire a pass and i have been able to just tap r2 to feather a pass. all-star hardcore settings.

Woah!
This need confirmation! I'm a 100% manual passer, and couldn't live with any kind off pass/aim assist.
I know it wasn't available in the demo, but retail.
If set to manual - Yes, and the assist is set to zero there should be no assist whatsoever, can anyone confirm this.

Yes you can keep right trigger down and cancel pass or not but no matter how long you press the button it has nothing to do with power of the pass.

Noticed it too, direction seems assisted even with assist at 0 passes seem to be directed towards a player. Xbox one version if it matters, manual passing on and pass assist slider all the way off.
