Cons... Too many to list. It's almost like they ran out of time making this game. Besides the modes that were left out, there are so many little things left out or in error.
The game play and presentation is solid in this year's game. The game plays very smoothly and realistically and it's the best presentation package they've put together so far. It really makes it feel like you're watching a game on television.
..... The issue is that's pretty much all the game has going for it at the moment.
NFL: New England Patriots
NBA: Boston Celtics
NCAA: Michigan Wolverines, UNH Wildcats
NHL: Boston Bruins
MLB Boston Red Sox
Pro's: Menus are better done. Graphics are impressive. Very smooth gameplay. Some nice detailed graphic touches, like the ice quality getting worse during a period. The deking/puck handling is much improved in animations. Puck bouncing is improved. Break out options in-game strategy is improved.
Con's: Clearly an unfinished game, missing lots of modes and very simple features (ie 3 stars of the game). Announcers are extremely repetitive, got old after the 3rd game. No real music in the game. Collissions are pretty silly, some times on hits my guy acts like a human torpedo. Passing is heavily computer assisted. Computer AI D is again useless. Neutral Zone? What neutral zone? Players in D-Zone still all bunch in one large group in the middle of the blue line? People say the gameplay is awesome, but really its just okay, it just LOOKS better.
Overall: This is a bare bones game. They clearly did not have the manpower/funding to complete the game. Only buy if you are a die-hard NHL series fan and can get by without the missing game modes.
