I guess I used the right word "buy". To me this is obvious pay to win, I find it hard to rationalize even playing HUT. I cannot be the only one who feels this way.

Why do women pay to have gigantic plastic balloons put in their chest?

I played HUT in the past and still play FUT in Fifa and I haven't spent any real money to play. So while most people do pay to win, quite a few do not.

I play to open packs.... its fun, throws me back to being a kid again and opening cards. It's so much fun and with the free daily coins, you can get a pack a week just for that.

It is not even close to pay to win.

Say what you want about this mode, but they give you AMPLE opportunity to earn coins in all EA UT modes.

You won;t be a great team right off the bat, and you do actually have to play to earn the coins, but it's possible.

Sports cards have been profitable for years. Why wouldn't the idea be just as profitable in a digital form? I like the idea of collecting cards.

I do not want to be a Debbie-downer here but if you can pay to improve your place in a competitive component, that seems to be the exact definition of pay to win.

You take 2 equally skilled players, give one the ability to get items in a faster way with access to better weapons earlier (and easier) how can that not be pay to win?
