Best deke / way to avoid head-on checks?

Can someone please share some ideas on the best ways to avoid head on checks? I play with a friend and many times I enter the zone with the puck he skates straight up on me and throws a big head-on check on me and knocks me down. We get a good laugh out of it, but I'm looking to burn him on it as that's the best way to get him to temper it or avoid it.

I'm thinking there is some deke or special move I can make, so that as I see him gearing up for the check I can go right around him and leave him standing there wondering what happened.

I'm fairly familiar with the game but don't really know or use the dekes much, so I'd appreciate any advice on what deke/move to use and how to pull it off. For reference I'm playing NHL 15 on PS4.

    Thanks!!

Check out youtube, plenty of videos explaining the dekes.. they don't work so well once you get close to someone lining you up for a check though. The CPU teams get me most of the time.

Any deke in particular that works well in this specific situation? Thanks!

Before I get too close, on XB1 I told LB and move the left stick in the opposite direction on the defender.
