Why does something have to be screwed up every year? The vast majority of people don't want to use NHL rosters in OTP. Thats going to lead to everyone picking top tier teams like the Blackhawks(I'm a hawks fan and even I don't want to see that every game).

Also, you mentioned the "private otp sessions" but since they lumped that into the OTP NHL rosters section, that leads you to believe you'll be using the NHL teams instead of custom skaters. If thats the case, its useless for LG or any other league.

I'm not speaking for people who are more into offline play, but in terms of team play related stuff most people loved the gameplay on NHL 15. All we wanted was that experience on the XB1 or PS4. Looks like that won't be happening. This is a very disappointing feature reveal.

Exactly!

Why should the people who play this game a ton be punished because people who don't can't compete?

Without being able to level-up this game will become repetitive and boring after a month of playing EASHL. What is my incentive for playing other than to rack up stats and wins if I cannot ever get better?

Essentially what will happen with the way it is set up now is that it will just be a game of who can cheese the best if all players are given the same attributes. Which is what it pretty much was with any teams that had maxed out attributes. At least before it was fun to go up against different builds once in a while and try to exploit their weaknesses because some people use big defensemen that are slow or always go for the check etc.

EASHL with pre-set player builds sounds good to me. At least half of the attributes were broken in EASHL anyways. No more 68 overall grinder builds being the best builds in the game. Even playing field makes everything much more competitive.

this would be a good question for the OP. I'm assuming the overall ranges from 80 - 86 or something like that depending on what build you are using. or maybe every player overall is the same

I'm kind of iffy on this whole new EASHL thing. I'm glad it's back and will be buying the game because of that but one of the best parts about the EASHL was having fun customizing your player build attributes. I use to spend hours just doing that in the game. At the same time though I like how EASHL is saving me money by doing this though. I use to have to buy attributes right away for goalie and skater which cost me at least another $50 after buying the game. I find it strange they are taking away all the attribute boost and I'm wondering where they are going to charge now? are they going to charge club fees now or what? lol This is EA we are talking about.. there has to be some sort of catch if they are taking away all the purchasing of attributes. There has to be some sort of thing they will be offering for money in the EASHL to get more money out of us...

I find this hard to believe this is what the EASHL community really wanted by the way. I think it's more of EA being lazy really doing this. I'm still excited the EASHL is back though and we will see how it works with everyone being the same attributes.

How hard is it for them to enable the consumers of this game to edit players???. What is it in EAs agenda that forces them to keep edit player out of the game? I can say with 99.99% certainty that they KNOW the fanbase is dying to have such a simple thing in the game. Do they not possess the technical power to achieve such a feat as edit player?

My guess is that it causes the game to crash when certain players or attributes are edited.

There are over 1000 players in the game and dozens of attributes. That is an awful lot of code to run through and testing that would need to be done in able to ensure near 100% stability within the edit player functions.

It is probably something that they are trying to do but haven't been able to ensure it works without potentially breaking other portions of the game. So it might be something that they have to hold off on until they figure it all out.

Just my speculation, but I feel pretty strongly about it being the reason.
