    A Little Info

Stuff I picked up off twitter:

—The duplicate CAP glitch is gone. All CAPs will be exactly where you want them.

—This includes creating draftable players! For example, if you create a 17/yo US D, leaving him unassigned and he'll go into the United States Defensemen players pool.

—You can edit equipment in GM Mode (not attrbiutes).

—Most Pro Series team names have been added to the game.

—EASHL player builds are 'like a second liner.

—Passing is 'like 14, but better'

—No create team feature this year

—Player Morale affects AHL (which is playable)

    —Simming speed has been improved

    —Strategies save permanently.

Note: Oohwayy will post with the good stuff after he gets home. I just went through a few tweets and grabbed this info. He'll be able to tell you more things and everything in much more detail (everything sounds exciting).

How about an inactivity timer for people who join a game and aren't there for the whole period? Or WHOLE GAME?

Pretty sure the visit was during this week, and just wrapped up. A few of them have been tweeting the past couple of days. I would expect some info from them this weekend/next week.

          Really nice reporting.

Was physical growth in for prospects last year? It was a great add in NHL 13, and other than the height glitch making tall players reset to 5'0" it worked very well.

No editing attributes in BeAGM? Isn't this the opposite of what we were told before? Can we edit attributes before we start our GM and have it be in for the start?

This really doesn't concern me as I can't stand to play against the horrible AI and go 75-7 every season on the hardest settings, but I know a ton of people in this community care about editing attributes.

Agreed. I'd like to have full autonomy over my BaGM universe if I feel I want to use it. I don't care if they put in an option for full editing that disables the ability to earn trophies/achievements if the worry is someone "fixing" the game to "unfairly" earn them.

It's important to me. There's no reason for them to lock editing in my offline BeAGm mode other than them sending me the message that it is their game and I'll play it as they like. I don't like their ratings, I don't like their progression, I want to tweak as I see fit as I go along.

I stopped buying the EA Hockey series b/c once I played games that weren't locked (The Show, NBA2k, NCAA Football, Madden) I realized that even though my favourite sport is hockey, and I'm OK with the graphics and gameplay, it does not have the same replay value if I can't tweak. And with the franchise mode I found I was constantly restarting my franchise b/c of the locked ratings.

The only game I buy that has ratings locked is FIFA - and that game is a lot more fun to play than hockey.

Frankly, it went from a 'no buy' to a 'buy' as soon as I heard that ratings in offline franchise modes might be editable. And now it's back to 'no buy.' Without that single feature I might as well pass and just rent the game and play a season with it b/c it won't be worth it to me to purchase. It may sound silly to some, but if you're an exclusively offline, franchise mode player it's likely an incredibly important feature to have available. For me it makes all the difference for my enjoyment of the game, and my decision to purchase the product or not.

And it's especially galling that you can't edit in franchise mode b/c there is simply no reason whatsoever that it is locked.

Strategies that now save is a huge plus. I wonder if it will let us edit CPU team strategies and save them in BE A GM? Any idea if this was covered? This could potentially help somewhat with the neutral zone pressure issue.

They are still in Vancouver, through today.

I'll ask about Custom AI. You can do edits before going into GM mode, just not attribute editing in GM mode (due to the fact it could mess up contracts).

Just seems like all that they touted and how they "worked so hard" to get player edits in the game and it is completely nerfed to most of those who really were looking forward to it or asking for it.

Contracts should be completely editable, as well. Let us do what we want with our game, especially if it is for offline purposes!

How we live in the year 2015 and we can't run a multi-user franchise in a sports title is beyond me, anyway. I can't play against the cpu for every game. It is just down right brutal and not fun in hockey. Football or baseball, perhaps. Hockey, not a chance.

That is why I wish that HUT/OTP/EASHL was just it's own game. I play club online probably 90-95% of the time when I play NHL. You don't need the NHLPA license for it and it is strictly online and could be it's own entity. Charge me $30 a year for it and don't even print it to a disk. Then you can nickel and dime people all you want with your in-game purchases etc.

They need the NHL product to be its own entity. Have a group that is working on AI and gameplay and arenas and art etc. All they do is focus on that. The online aspects, outside of versus mode, require none of that extra stuff. You don't even need to play in NHL arenas, cause you can't in OTP or Club anyway. Hell, if you make it so we can upload our own jerseys to an online editor that is approved by EA, like NCAA Football had years ago, then you could not even need the NHL license to run Club or OTP.

Essentially EA is pulling themselves in 3, or more, different directions of focus with each NHL that releases. There is offline, online, and HUT. And they can't seem to focus on any of them enough to deliver a complete product in any facet that anyone is really asking for. Yet the consumer is stuck paying the price, both figuratively and literally, for this incomplete mess each year. I have yet to see a hardcore fan of any of these 3 modes be really excited or happy with what has been delivered of late. Well, maybe 1 hardcore fan... but I digress.

Fully agree. Custom AI is the only way to truly make the AI play a better brand of hockey for offline players. I won't go on my rant about custom AI because I've done it enough throughout the years here, but it is a massive help adjusting these settings. It still doesn't affect neutral zone pressure but at least you can get the CPU to pressure, forecheck, cycle, and shoot like a normal freaking hockey team. If we are finally able to use Custom AI inside of Be A GM I may think about buying this game. If not it will be a no go most likely. Otherwise I will do what I did this year and buy the game for 10 bucks on PSN just to play online occasionally.

I think editing IN BeAGM would be ridiculous. You could draft a guy then make him all 99s. So I'm assuming that's not what you're saying.

I think they are saying that they would like to have both.

Why wouldn't you? It is your game to do whatever you please with it. Say someone keeps retiring that wouldn't in real life and you want to keep them around. Or someone gets injured and is out for a long time in real life and you are trying to replicate your franchise to match the real world rosters the best you can. NHL doesn't permit this for what reason?

As long as it is for offline and personal use only I cannot see what the reasoning behind any sports game not permitting their consumers from editing attributes, or whatever they really want on a player.

Some players even change their legal names in real life and people like to match that occurrence within their own game.

And if someone wants to "cheat" within their game then so be it. It is no different than shutting off the system when someone gets hurt, or you lose a game. It is your own fantasy world of hockey. Why not do with it as you please for your own enjoyment?
